Chaos Dwarf Dreadquake Mortar!

Brand new from Warhammer Forge... check out this Chaos Dwarf Dreadquake Mortar!!!
Slave Ogres and Chaos Dwarves... nasty!
Of course there are rules for this beast too... you can access them here.
It would not be Forgeworld photos if it did not have the panicing guy running away
Nice to see some painted chaos dwarf models from forgeworld, and the model is of course great.
this is so awesome !
Is it just me or does it look like “standard” GW plastic kit? There’s something missing – maybe it’s just cos it’s on the train carriage I’m thinking in steampunk mode and the Ogre/Bighat CDs don’t quite fit. I dunno, The slave ogre is a little static and with the steam engine makes the Mortar look a touch underwhelming in comparison with the other CD warmachines.
I suppose that’s the trouble, there’s so many oversized weapons already it’s hard to make a huge one look impressive anymore. (Is that worthy of a fnar?)
Fnar.
@dogma2097 I was thinking along the same lines. I find that the figures around the mortar are very plane in the level of detail. This goes for all the CD crews so far. Nothing worth writing home about. If you where to place this beside the other fantasy they have made it looks very dull, no sharp details at all.
LOL they stole Les’ from Awesomepaintjob’s patina technique. Nice.
I wonder what the rest of the train looks like.
With the amount of Chaos Dwarf stuff they are doing – maybe we will actually see them return to the table top as a proper army with a proper rulebook. Would be nice to see another race emerge to be used – Hobgoblins and all.
I’m really not too impressed by the Chaos Dwarf warmachines especially at the prices forgeworld is asking.
Scratch building or kit bashing a tech fantasy looking artillery piece isn’t very hard at all.
I do like the Dwarves that make up the crews for these vehicles though, the basic Warriors they are doing looked really boring to me they are just wearing fairly standard full plate, but the crew models have a lot more character to them.
The odds of Forgeworld selling just the crews, and at a good price, though?
Probably very low indeed.
looks like a train. with a cannon mounted on it. nice, but nothing that impresses me much. this stuff can be build with random bits aswell…
i think al these huge guns are making warhammer lose its fantasy feel
watch out it’ll turn into to 40k when are backs are turned
If you look at the other CD releases, yes this is a train. There is the Iron Daemon engine, Death Shrieker rocket battery, Magma Cannon and now this Bombard. All designed to fit in with the Iron Daemon as a train set because dwarves generally live in mines one would think.. Great range.
