Carnevale is on the Horizon!
October 5, 2011 by beerogre
We haven't mentioned this in a few weeks, but the game is nearly ready for release... dare you enter the shadowed alleyways and fetid canals of 18th century Venice with... CARNEVALE!
The website for the game is not yet active, but you can receive all the latest information on release dates and miniatures here on Beasts of War.
Check out some of the new releases coming up... they're only preliminary photos... so watch out for more coming soon!
Can't wait for more news about Carnevale?
Why not join the Beasts of War Carnevale Group... let's get the conversation started about the game!

Is it a Beasts of War product?
No Beasts of War aren’t producing the game, it’s being produced by a new Spanish game company… more about that will be out soon.
However, you might see my name in the credits. 😉
Great ;]
I thought it was a Beasts of war product because it couldn’t be seen anywere but here XD
@sergus … An exclusive will do that… 😉
Don’t forget to join the Carnevale group and ask your questions. I’ll try to divulge as much as I’m allowed. But I’ll ask the game’s creator to pop over to give some insights too.
Did you give them the design rights to your beard!! hehe grats 😀
Any chance for bigger pics, especially the warband?
This is probably the game im most excited for, something original and innovative in Fantasy for a change. Very refreshing from all the Tolkein-wannabe stuff. I dig those Deep Ones – hope they’ll be some more amorphous thingies.
OMG. Huge fan of La Serenissima, 18th c. and Lovecraftarian … the terrian options for the game are coming in with a tide; channels, bridges, boats, palaces, garden islands … awesome.
I was thinking about trying out Malifaux, but looking at this … I might just wait.
Hate the cover though. Too kitchy and pulp-like … I think the Canale Grande or Santa Maria Maggiore in moonlite with some eyes staring from the water would quite suffice … as it is, I think there is too much going on; the renaissance title, (that would have been awfully out of fashion in 18th c.), a mask that seems like something a tourist would buy on the way to Piazza San Marco, the pulpy cultist … While I’m quite certain it conveys much of the actual in-game excitement, I think a cover for this theme should be sleeker, darker,… Read more »
@lucas … try clicking the pictures, it will make the pics a bit bigger. 😉
I did, thanks, but I’d like better pictures yet (like the ones shown in Turn8)! 🙂 Will wait though, this is shaping up beautifully.
I have been drooling at this ever since we heard the game was in the making…
The setting is amazing, the concept is original, the period is grandiose, and the sculpts we’ve seen are simply to die for !
What’s not to like ?
BoW Romain
Should do some painting videos of these minis when they come out Romain, would be good to see you have a punt at one.
this looks sweeeeeet
Am really looking forward to this. Cutlass was a bit of a dud IMHO. Just didn’t blow my skirt up like the Infinity week did. Not your fault, the game just didn’t do it for me like I had hoped. But this looks really cool. A very specific time and style. More than just an Ork with a pirate hat on but a looked based in fact. And with plenty of real world reference material to set the tone it feels real and to me that’s a big draw.
Am crying buckets
There is so much stuff of jolly good egginess coming out and now this!!
I can’t cope
Looking at the figures they are a must I mean Pulchinellos, Plague Doctors, weird beasties and Venezian costumes! There must be gondolas too?
Impossible to resist!!!
Just needs a Red Priest and you have a VERY good excuse for Baroque music, Andy! 😉
It kinda makes me want to listen to yelworC albums while painting the figures in a “King in yellow” theme, myself 😀
Nice looking models and a good chance for some bright colours to be painted rather than just drab sci-fi paint jobs lol. Can’t wait to see what this turns out like.
Looking very sharp.
The cover (if it’s the final version) isn’t really spectacular. Too much going on making it really messy and some of the picture elements seem to be just slapped on with photoshop. Also, from what I’ve read about the game, it doesn’t really reflect the settings atmosphere. But I have a feeling that this isn’t the final rulebook cover. The models (from what I’ve seen) and the setting (based on what I’ve read and heard) on the other hand are spectacular. The Brotherhood minis from Freebooter’s Fate seem to be spot on also for Carnevale. These style is very similar.… Read more »
Now this looks interesting…
Love the minis, but I hope the game designers are reading these comments about the cover; does look a bit…well, I guess cheap… 😉
The minis, though: gorgeous…
Tentacles…Golden Mask…Fishfolk… Got a strong Cthulhu feeling here, and that’s never bad.
