Bushido Show Why Not to Run on Hot Coals
May 28, 2012 by brennon
Bushido has a new wave arriving very soon but thought they would treat us to a superbly painted miniature preview to get us drooling. Check out the awesomely fiery Hotaru!
Very close if not identical to the original art work and with a serious sense of attitude to it. I love the way the flames have been painted and the determined expression on her face.
Once again a model that proves GCT Studios know what they're doing!
What do you make of the flaming Hotaru?

I saw the artwork for this a while ago. I’m really glad they made the sculpt so close to it.

I second that – very dynamic and very fierce. I’m glad the sculpted fire was strong enough to hold that pose Hotaru has and I like the sense of movement captured in the clothing. The paint job is cool too – there’s good transition between the colours as the fire gets hotter, ending up white hot from the source herself. Really impressive.
Is it wrong that I want to pick up a few of the Temple minis and do them up in the colours of various element-benders from Avatar: The Last Airbender?
I bet she’ll set the dance floor on fire with her moves!
Having seen this miniature in the flesh I can confirm it’s a very nice sculpt indeed. My friend picked it up at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham. Also remember that they still have their Indiegogo campaign running:

They’re only $1345 away from hitting their next stretch target and giving yet another free miniature away to those who have pledged $100. Not wanting to go all salesmen on people but seriously check it out it’s a great deal and one of those free mini’s could be Hotaru if you wanted. Bargain if you ask me.
Gah, so wanted to go to the Expo but was working lol!

Hiya Ben,
How you been since the trains to Nottingham ‘incident’? In my opinion mate you didn’t miss too much. Here’s my report:

In other news, with only 4 days to go the Bushido Ito faction Indiegogo campaign is painfully close with only $1195 to go until it’s next stretch goal!!! Come on people I want the extra snake man thingy. lol.
The miniature’s overall design and sculpt is nice, but I am really not a fan of the face. Her brow is too broad and large.
For goodness sakes don’t let her hear you say that.
She is having a go at some guy just because he said something about her bobbles.
Thats very nicely detailed sculpt. That effect looks like she is doing that same kick that Fei Long from SF games does.
A great mini with a nice paint job…the face is less sweet cutie and more angry kick arse b%$ch
