Bring The Banner Forth For Shieldwolf’s Orcs

Shieldwolf Miniatures' Orcs are coming along very well indeed and the latest miniature to hit their webstore is the Orc Army Banner Bearer who is looking very, very cool in my opinion.
Still not quite a big fan of the whole grinning 'Joker' visage but I do love the rest of the model, a lot. It makes sense to see an Orc swinging his banner around, ready to charge into the foe. I think the addition of that cool shield/blade contraption on his other arm is a good way of keeping him alive too.
It has always bugged me that a Standard Bearer always looks like he couldn't fight to save his life.
What do you think?
I like this model, he’s very happy to charge into combat, wich is plausible for an orc 🙂
You’re right. Also, he’s a bit too much of a knuckle dragger for my liking.
I like his practical pointy shield that would double up as a weapon. My main gripe with standard bearers is their lack of weaponry (unless they are using the standard itself to clobber the enemy). I mean, who runs full speed at an enemy with two hands on a flag pole? That is just asking to be stabbed/shot! This brute has a shield that doubles as a weapon, plus can hold the standard (which looks terrific). Well done Shieldwolf! It’s good to see a small company in the Balkans producing such nice miniatures.
