Yes, I can see a flying carnifex known as a harpy being born.
or demons
Im just trying to get this image of a carnifex with wings learning to fly for the first time. Taking a few tentative steps, precariously poised on the edge of a canyon wall, stretching ridiculously small wings as nature tells it that it is destined to soar like an eagle.
And then THUD… a 10 meter wide crater in the base of the canyon where a 4 ton cannon ball with legs and crushing claws landed… wings still outstretched in optimistic glory.
Hmmm… A D&D tiefling with a house rule… I like the way they’re slightly folded !
I have a couple of the old metal deamon princes and the they look like they would slot into the recess for the backpack vanes nicely
You could make a gigantic flying ripper!
