A Bearded Paladin Steps out of Stonehaven Miniatures
July 12, 2012 by brennon
I frankly can't let a day go by where I don't look up miniatures of Dwarves and wish I was hanging out with them in the depths of a mountain. So, here is my joyous discovery today of the WIP Paladin Dwarf model from Stonehaven's Kickstarter Project...
I think this more than proves the skills the sculptor has and I love that the miniature has retained the same semi-cartoon charm that we saw in the concept art.
I wonder how hard it's going to be to get my entire D&D group to play a throng of Dwarves?
What do you think of this first Work-in-Progress sculpt?
Good sculpt, but too static for my liking. I’m hooked on Scibor’s dwarf range, and got a huge army for cheap at EM4.
Don’t mind the lack of dynamism, personally
There is enough to compensate in the sculpt to enjoy.
But if you have the Scibor Dwarves he isn’t going to fit in with their style.
Sounds like you did good on the deal! 😀
I didn’t get the Scibor stuff at EM4. I wish! I bought EM4’s orcs and dwarves. Hard to argue with the prices for those, especially if you’re buying them in bulk, i.e. 50 for about $12 Canadian. At that price you don’t worry about hacking away at them and attempting mods, and I’ve already converted a lot of their orc spearmen to warg cavalry.
Those are my rank and file boys. I like Reaper and Scibor for dwarf heroes, PC’s, and specialty units. Wish I could afford Scibor’s bear cavalry. Every time I look at them I need a bib.
lol
Dwarves on Bears, I mean, seriously, Dwarves AND bears !!
what’s not to like!!! wub!
