Base Yourself for Titan Forge’s Daemonic Landscape

Titan Forge have released a new bunch of decorative bases, taking your miniatures to many places including the treacherous footing of the Daemonic Kingdoms.
Titan Forge's decorative bases contain a lot of detail and style which make them very suited to emphasising the character of your miniatures.
However, I do think that some of these bases might have fallen into that old trap of sacrificing practicality for effect. While there generally is a flat(ish) central area for the miniature to go, many of these are broken up by terrain features.
What are your experiences with decorative bases in general?
That big one with the tank is nice. The small ones would be hard to mount a model on.
