Avatars Of War Make 2014 The Time Of The Dark Elf
January 1, 2014 by brennon
Avatars of War showed off a bit of a sneak peek concerning their next project and it looks incredibly Dark Elfy. See what you reckon to their Vestals of Nemesis from Facebook...
You might need to give this one a click to see more clearly but they are putting together a twenty (wo)man box plastic kit which will be multi-component much like the rest of their work.
They are certainly looking awesome and have plenty of movement to them. They might also come in at a better price point than the Games Workshop ones and provide you with a good alternative.
Hopefully Avatars of War are also concentrating on finishing off the Dwarf army from their fundraiser too!
What do you think?

Awesome looking models, but I think AoW should release first the models promised in their indiegogo campaign…
Have they still not finished the dwarves? How much is left to do? I lost track with AoW were doing around the time they started experiencing massive delays fulfilling the Warriors of Apoc orders. In their defence, doing these minis doesn’t necessarily mean they’re taking away resources that would otherwise be spent doing the dwarves. They could well be at different stages of the production process.
I love AoW’s figures but the company is a total clusterf*ck. I’ve ordered from them several times, and while my stuff eventually showed up (3 months in one case, and that after I waited two months before discovering the website had not processed my order the first time), it took numerous queries, and always there were excuses on their end. Those Apocalypse/Chaos units are still not available, and are not even on the website, which begs the question: if you have a product people want, why don’t you increase production? With 25% youth unemployment in Spain, it’s not like there’s… Read more »
The simple answer to that is because it costs money that the company don’t have. The bottleneck was created by the limited number of casting machines. More of these would have to be bought before any new staff could be brought in. Bearing in mind that AoW can’t afford to pay anyone to translate Warthrone into English (at least last time I checked) then expanding production would seem well beyond their resources.
“with 25% youth unemployment in Spain, it’s not like there’s no one to hire.”
That’s LITERALLY the worse thing you can do lol :p and part of the reason Finecast was such a clusterfrak in the first place.
They will make excellent Sisters of Slaughter.
Better than GWs by the looks of things – more diverse, as dynamic and probably will be more reasonably costed.
However got to agree with comments about business direction – they seriously need someone with a business touch to sort things out. Also anything a company take pledges for should be number 1 priority
I agree that they compare very favourably with GW’s witch elves, but what about originality? I’m tired of seeing other miniature companies just copying GW.
Dark elves? Lol… dwarfs to be finished by… 2017!
