Answer Fantasy Flight’s Warhammer Hero’s Call
November 22, 2011 by dracs
Fantasy Flight Games have put up a preview of the upcoming supplement for the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying Game. Will you answer the Hero's Call?
Hero's Call alows your characters to start making their mark on the Old World. Advance to lofty and powerful positions as wizard lords or army generals and experience the responsibilities such roles engender. However, as your rise in ranks of the world you will also come to the attention of some truly Epic Threats.
The Epic Threats are split into two categories: Epic Antagonists and Epic Monsters.
Epic Monsters do exactly what it says on the tin. The book will provide you with the rules and background for seven Epic Monsters, so you can send your heroes out to take on monstrous Hell Pit Abominations, Hydras or even the Chaos Dragon Galrauch.
The Epic Antagonists, on the other hand, allow you to pit your heroes against some of the greatest threats of the Old World. With rules for such figures as Archaon, Khazrak and Grimgor Ironhide, you will be spoilt for choices when it comes to choosing an arch-enemy seeking to conquer and destroy.
I think that these inclusions will make for some really interesting roleplay scenarios and will definitely bring a new depth to your games. Taking positions of great prestige also provides interesting possibilities for playing Warhammer Fantasy Battles around your roleplaying games. Perhaps your character is in command of an army going to war. Play out the battle to see what way events will take.

I’m really looking forward to this expansion and hope for more to come!
Its a good idea – sort of like End Game content for an MMORPG. They continually add on for those players who have reached the peaks of being just ‘humble adventurers’. Its a nice idea that uses the vast array of background and source material from the Old World and allows us to interact with it.
After all, just because Gotrek & Felix see Thanquol every so often doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t lol.
