Really like Anima Tactics. Also managed to get the system fairly well with not a lot of gaming experience. In fact it would be fair to say that it was easier than WH. The way the characters interactm and the recovery of AP’s and how you use them make for a wonderful game imho I like how you are always in the game and possibly can react to situations, Espcially appreciate the alternating activation of characters. There is now another faction called Black Sun and some new really good looking models in the existing factions not in the current rulebook.… Read more »
I played their starter rules a few times and found the game OK, but not really stand-out. It’s pretty enough, but I found that the choices in-game were limited and obvious. Each character has special stuff they can do, and this is what you want to be doing as it’s why you take them and not another model. Unfortunately nearly all the special stuff is so costly that you miss every other turn “recharging” and not doing too much else. An OK filler, perhaps, but my few models are headed for Ebay.
hmmm…interesting take on AT.
Good to hear Pro and Con
Definitely interested in this one. I wonder if Agents are customizable enough to basically port my characters over from the RPG.
Why, that’s an excellent presentation, Justin !
Thank you.
I really really realy like the Wissenschaft minis (sorry… And I think it’s pronounced “Vissenschaaft”) even though I probably won’t have time to play a single game…

thanks Romain, we’ll have to try and get a game on the next time you come over. 🙂

I’m shocked this game is getting any attention. It’s been out for a while now but has basically been usurped by hell dorado (nothing wrong with hell dorado though). I like the game, but I’m not very passionate about it, it’s more an excuse to get those amazing models. I find the main principals of the game are a blast, but it can be tough to do the flashy stuff without getting crushed in return. It is a rather refreshing change for me as well. Everything about the game oozes style and character. This guy dose almost all of the… Read more »
Usurped ? Bad choice of words, probably…
Hell Dorado has been out for a while longer than Anima Tactics…
And the background is incredibly different.
However, bothe the Hell Dorado and Anima games are, to me, a secondary concern…
The awesome models are what’s important here !
BoW Romain
I disagree it was the fluff of Anima Tactics that sold it for me.
BoW Justin
Never said it wasn’t good… I just said it was quite different from Hell Dorado.
BoW Romain
I meant more from the manufacturer than the players. they have a big backlog to work through re-releasing all the hell dorado stuff and have given anima much less attention as they catch up.
We’ll be having a look at Hell Dorado soon… stay tuned! 😀
I have a ton of the models and love the game. Like Dais said it has been out for quite some time and I’m glad you guys did the review. Ciphers studios has actually taken over distribution of Anima Tactics from Fantasy Flight, which a good thing in my book and as for Helldorado, Meh.
the models look really cool for this game. Great to see some info on the system. Hope you do some more videos for it
got myself a little Samael army but I think Malufaux is the more balanced game
but both systems got awesome models
I’m a massive fan of Anima Tactics. The art is astonishing, the minis are amazing, and the rules are dynamic and interesting. Plus the fluff is great fun too! I’d love to see more Anima Tactics coverage from you guys.
this game has been one of the best times ive had playing any wargame / skirmish game. every faction feels and acts different and its blatant homage to various fighting videogames is a plus. also with very minimal amount of minis to field, my wallet doesnt have to cry itself to sleep! though i do have to say, the game has a flavor for everyone from different gaming mediums, and with that being said…who doesnt want to play a Resident Evil inspired faction like the Black Sun. enjoy painting and playing…man this just made me want to up my painting… Read more »
Over all that sounded kinda intresting.
I’ve been playing this game for four years now, and I must say that it is a very easy game to play. Allthought it may seem hard, most of the rules you need are on your stat cards. The good thing of this game is that a 4 player free for all ( or any number of players, i just happen to play with 2-3 guys more) happens to be very fun. I’d recomend this game to start wargaming, since it really doesen’t need a lot of rules reading (basic rules can be read and memorized in 45 minutes). Just… Read more »
Yes! I want to see a demo-game.
some stuff on youtube
BoW needs to do more coverage…Demo…DEmo….DEMo…DEMO
😉
As mainly a collector and reader that’s a lovely book. Many thanks for showing it. I was never sure about purchasing but certainly will now.
Much obliged folks!
Was looking for a nice little skirmish game and this fits perfectly. The gorgeous models, art, and complicated back story.
Excellent review!
love it
