Alternative Armies Have an Original Take on Waterloo
July 23, 2012 by brennon
Alternative Armies are marching to war again, but this time with a very different take on the historical battles of Waterloo. Check out their very odd and certainly individual Fruscati Grenadieria...
I think 'Alternative' fits these guys pretty well. While not the most solid of sculpts they are quite fun and interesting. I couldn't see myself picking up a massive army of these but might be nice as a little side project testing out a bit of painting.
Does anyone see these figures as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
What is this I’m looking at? God help us the frogmen are coming the frogmen are coming!
The sculpts for Flintloque/Slaughterloo have not aged that well. Which I think is a terrible shame, the concept is hilarious, there was a lot of background written for it and with the recent uptake of 28mm Napoleonics, these would probably generate some interest.
As it is, they just really don’t look that good.
I mean, just look at these pictures;

Sharke and his rifles? Undead proto-Russians? What’s not to like about high-fantasy napoleonics?!
I really hope some day someone sees the potential and “updates” the concept to slightly more modern sculpting standards …
You would be better using the Relics Britanans than these chaps.
If they are meant to be frogs, shouldn’t they be wearing blue jackets? just sayin’…:P
many apologies to Romain
I am going to hide under a damp stone for a while. :*) :*) :*)
