[Updated] PVC Fishermen & Butcher’s Guild – IndieGoGo Tonight 20:00 GMT
January 24, 2018 by brennon
Somewhat out of the blue we got news that the Fisherman & Butcher's Guilds are coming to IndieGoGo from Steamforged Games with new PVC teams. Check out what's coming below...
A reminder that the campaign...
...going to be capped at 800 backers
You can find out more about their reasons behind this HERE.
Both of the Guilds for Guild Ball are coming alongside a range of additional bits and bobs for creating a great looking pitch on the tabletop.
These look like mostly alternative sculpts for a lot of the models that folks will be used to from both Guilds.
Are you interested in picking up this new team set?

Interesting…I do like the guild ball plastic minis
Wonder why they’re not using KS as they already know the platform from darksouls and it seems to get more views/pledges especially from US backers?
They have posted some info on their blog:
They chose Indiegogo because they say it doesn’t function in the same way as Kickstarter. There is less demand for stretch goals and for more and more value to be squeezed in, so it can be used as a secure 3rd party pre-order platform.
Those are some great looking plastic minis.
I´m so happy that I´ve just waited with the Butchers and the Fisherman… I would love to have them in PVC.
It would be interesting to see them side by side with previous ones to see the difference between the two mediums. All in all the look pretty good.
Indiegogo campaign will be capped at 800 backers.
Liking the look of these teams, especially the goals and terrain pieces.
Couldn’t be more perfect for me, was hoping they’d get these out in pvc to add to the kick off two player box set. Then I can add the Farmers, then the blacksmiths…my wallet has started to cry.
Guild Ball has intrigued me for a while, but always resisted because seemed like I’d need to expand it immediately to add variety to the teams… but so many plastic figures would make it more tempting.
Anyone know if this is a complete starter? Or do you need a pitch and rules?
@pagan8th it is a 12 man team, I believe exact details of pledge need to be confirmed (I am assuming it will be a option of 1 or both). Rules are free download and a 3 x 3 will do for a pitch. However unless you are sold on these particular teams the Kick off box would be a better bet for you – then once you decide on a team add a metal 6 pack – unless you hate metal.
In which case this or picking up the farmers/blacksmith would be a better option probably.
I have experience with metal… Warmachine and Hordes… but that doesn’t mean I like drilling and pinning.
With something like Guild Ball I’m buying it more for the game, not the sculpts, so I’d do minimalistic paint jobs (Mythic Battles keeping my paintbrush busy and I’m waiting on Carnevale too).
I have both of these in metal, butchers being my favoured team – still want it for the terrain, goals and ball. Very tempted.
……… you own fish??? @dags I thought you were a true believer 🙁 . Admittedly If I manage to snag one of rhe 800 spots (I really think they will go quickly and launch (as %^%%^ usual at unfriendly to Australian times while I am at work or asleep… ) I will too , but mate … they are the arch enemy.
Yep, got them at kickstarter – went for 4 teams so went damage (butchers – my first choice), scoring (fish), control (Morts) and all rounder (masons) so I could demo different styles. Then pick up extras to make a union team.
I will be honest though there is something very nice switching teams in guildball can really refresh you on the game, and fish can be good fun to play.
You are so reasonable……………. ^sighs ………….*concedes point ………*stilll thinks Fish are a bunch of fancy pants , nancy boys……………. but I will probably end up owing them in this new plastic. I currently own Butchers and Brewers (in plastic … split starter). with Farmers on the way.
Oh and I really don’t like the way everyone puts Fish at the top of the page and butchers second when they show these new plastic teams. Butchers should be first !!!! As 1) the alphabet 2) they are cooler and 3) they beat the fish in the last world wide campaign. Yes , I am prtty and parochial but I don’t care. NYAHHHHHH * *Passing readers who are worried about my mental state, I am quite normal really, hold quite a responsible job and you wouldn’t think that there is anthing wrong with me., because there is not ….… Read more »
All valid points, and yeah butchers should clearly be top.
Yeah got 2nd box of farmers on order, first one ready to paint, have since ks picked up brewers, 1/2 the engineers.
Hunters, alchemists and blacksmiths all appeal but no more still stuff is painted. PS ratcatchers are an expansion so not a new guild …. honest … not rules lawyering my own pledge honest.
Yes you are perfectly justified getting ratcatchers as *obviously* they are just an extension of the Morticians (they are even in black plastic) 😉 😀
ITS LIVE NOW! GO! GO! GO!!!!!
I WENT! WENT! WENT! … (in on both…)
There are 2 separate campaigns, one for each team. Pledge set at $100.
Got my pledges in…

Wow…$100.00 for 16-18 PVC models? Are they on crack? lol
It’s the same as the existing plastics, for farmers and blacksmiths. $100 is £70 at the mo, for 10 players, 2 mascotts, 2 goals, 2 terrain bits, the player cards and the carboard tokens. The current pvc teams are £35 for 5 players, a mascott, goal, terrain bit and the cards and tokens.
They’re not as cheap as some plastics you can get on sprues, but for all unique models it’s about right.
Well said. 🙂
Perhaps, but from my perspective as a potential new player to the game it’s an easy “no f’n way”.
if you are new to the game then I would say this is probably not you best start point anyway.
If you’re new to the game, pick up the Kick Off set. It’s the best value and has everything you’ll need in it, 2 teams, all the cards, tokens, dice and a double sided pitch. It’s the best place to start by far, and after a few games you can start to look at the other guilds with an eye of how you like to play the game. Do you prefer to play a good passing game setting up wonder goals, or is that ball just getting in the way of a good fight.
Hmmm… Was well up got this but I must admit that PVC is a bit off-putting. Think I’ll wait until after the indigogo before jumping in.
the plastic is great quality …if you have a friend who has the kick off set, farmers or blacksmiths (or the masons/brewers scenery kit thet did at the end of last year) take a look at them. They aren’t Whiz kids super bendy rubbish and even is harder than the as the stuff Manic used in Dungeon/Star Saga or Privateer used in their Iron kingdoms board games, which is fine but needs in my opinion, a hot water bath to temper them before you paint. No the plastic they use is very durable holds detail and is a damn sight… Read more »
