I am impressed by how smooth gameplay seems to be from these recordings
It really is smooth while being very dynamic, models are repositioning all over the board and there are always multiple options open :).
That was a great game to watch. Really interesting to see how more seasoned players make the plans and then react to bad rolls.
Yes, a LOT of guild ball is reacting to what actually happens on the board when your plans don’t work!!! lol… sometimes you roll amazing, and other times you miss a 4 dice shot on goal on 3+…. the very cool part is that it doesn’t end the game (usually)… and as you learn the teams better, you see more combinations or ways to recover or counter your opponent with positioning or movements away from the ball.
Also, not sure if they were giving bigger influence stacks than in other games, but they seemed to get a lot more out of individual players. Saw a few times where they got more than a foot of movement out of a model.
A very common tactic is to put 3, 4, or more influence (on the captains) and the strikers… if you have a 2″ or 4″ dodge, then a 8-9″ run, and if you can make a successful attack for a 1 or 2″ dodge, and pass the ball for a 4″ momentous dodge, that’s easily 16″ of movement with many models having 6, 8, or even 10″ kick ranges when their bonus plays/character plays/legendary plays are triggered… so yeah.. very fluid at times.
Great game! Really like the game play.
You guys got me into DreadBall, which I’ve pretty much bought in its entirety (all teams bar one, extra season books, Ultimate, Extreme, backed DreadBall 2 on Kickstarter,,,) and it looks like you’re drawing me in to Guild Ball too
Love both guilds, but I’ll be sticking with the Brewers I think.
Also . . . the Dice taketh . . . and then they taketh again . . .
Love the video, I much prefer Guild Ball over Blood Bowl or Dreadball. Its amazing the combos and strategies you can do with just one player or a group of players in a Guild Ball team.
Fishermen are strong probably my next upcoming team.
Most exciting and engaging game out there at the moment. Love this game, they’ve captured strategy and theme perfectly. The characters and game play is very streamlined yet deep.
Steamforged support is amazing as well for the game and the community.
It is really good to see the Engineers playing… they were kinda of 2nd fiddle in the first two seasons, but the Season 3 changes have made them super interesting to watch and I’m looking forward to playing against them more.
I love my Fish. Great to see Greyscales get the game winner. He’s pretty much been my star player every time I bring the Fish out. I’ve been surprised to hear people go on about some of the other models and nearly ignore him. He’s really really reliable.
Great game. Thanks to the steamforge guys for a great week.
I think I am sold.
Well, you guys did it! You made me remove two KS pledges so that I can save my money for Guild Ball. It was a fun week to watch!
That was a fun game to watch. I’ve enjoyed all the coverage of this game. It was one I didn’t know a lot about until now.
I loved they way you filmed these games! From learn to plays, to head to head matches with beginners then coaches, beautiful. It really showed off the game system perfectly.
Great game, thanks for a fun filled week. Time to get some games in.
Great game and very interesting to see veteran players who work for steamforged play the game.
The character in the sculpt is lovely, especially like the mascots.
very entertaining ….great end to the week
That was great. As much as seeing the players and tactics, it’s two lads having a great time. Whatever your approach to games (competitive, fluffy, hobbyist, whatever) it’s about fun. NIce one lads.
That looked frustrating and funny for both players.
Great game and great week! Thanks
That was a great example of how a couple true GB players play the game.
Aah ready to vuew this slugfest! Beer and crisps in hand :).
