Star Wars: Legion Table – Ready For An Evening Of Gaming!
May 4, 2018 by dignity
We come towards the end of the day here at Beasts Of War and the team is getting ready to play some Star Wars: Legion (of course!). We're playing on a twelve-foot desert table complete with a ruined AT-AT and a whole host of Rebel Ships on the planet's surface.
Tell us what you're doing to celebrate May The 4th!
Drop your thoughts on our mega table below...

that’s a rocking table, have a good game guys and May 4th be with you
More is more, that works until the table is just a pile of sand with some miniatures buried underneath.
That’s what ambush rules are for. :p
That said would look really nice to have the ships half buried implying they’ve just had a sandstorm blow through with minis able to use the dunes like hills to get atop them to fight.
Justen a BOW fluffer? the table is stunning.
Game boys Game On.
I think this’d have to be before Empire actually; just as it can’t be after Jedi because you’ve got Vader on the board (although that could easily be handwaved by saying it’s not actually Vader but one of the Dark Jedi, Inquisitors or Emperor’s Hands Palpatine had in his service dressed in a Vader costume for some reason, eg attempt to keep the troopers’ moral up or him trying to use Vader’s name to seize control of the Empire during the post-Endor fallout), it can’t be after Empire as you’ve got Luke with a blue lightsaber and he lost his… Read more »
If there’s a bright centre to the studio, this is the table that’s furthest from it.
I <3 you
Another epic looking game table . After hearing Warren talking about the snap kit X Wing , I went out and got one. You should have seen the looks I got at the local hobby shop . I think the last snap kit I bought was back in 1966 . I found the supplied Legion bases make my Rebels look too tall next to my X Wing , so I based them on some surplus Bolt Action lipped bases , looks much better IMO
Sarrisa and Litko are both making replacement bases including the vehicle ones with the cut out. I’ll be picking up a set when I get started on mine. Those plinths they come on are ridiculously large.
Before return of the jedi since the falcon has the round radar dish, it lost it in return inside the death star. I think a few too many x wings, if only 2 or 3, it would ce better. Sometime more is more is a bit too much.
It could have a replacement one installed after Jedi; was it ever actually established when the TFA square dish was installed? Could have been put in a week before TFA for all we know.
Stunning table fellows. Do you guys realise how lucky you are….job hobbie all in one dream life.
What a great table, just a pity it has to be put away afterwards. The X-wings and Millennium Falcon, do look at home in a desert setting, but that`s true with any setting. Looking at the set up for the falcon and X-wings, you could do a game where Han solo, chewbacca and the pilot`s all have to get to there ships, before Imperial Stormtroopers with TIE fighter escorts catch them with there pants down. While the rest of the rebel force move out to intercept the Imperial force`s………………………….This game would have two parts to it. First part is, the… Read more »
Alternatively pair it with a game of X-Wing on another board – on the Legion board Han and the pilots have to get to their ships while the infantry hold off the Imperial ground troops, and when they do they take off and join the X-Wing board.
I like that kind of setup!
Ever since the Dropfleet Commander Boot camp had the fleet battles and the extra table running Dropzone Commandar, it’s been an idea I’ve used over and over again.
Soooooo Jealous!!!!! Awesome job guys! Table looks much better after @warzan dumped the box of sand on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FFG had already confirmed that Star Wars Legion will have up to a 100 mm base for… something. They haven’t specified what yet, but I’m thinking there may be a possibility for X-Wings and TIEs in the game with the 100 mm bases.
