Star Wars: Legion Painting VLOG – Final Part!
February 18, 2018 by johnlyons
Well guys check it out! A super quick project to get a pair of tabletop ready Star Wars: Legion forces is, something, something complete!
The Speeder Bikes really steal the show for me surprisingly, while the AT-ST really dominates the landscape.
The tabletop looks absolutely amazing and is made up of fantastic terrain from Battle Kiwi and a beautiful mat from Game Mat EU.

Absolutely stunning work @johnlyons 😀 . I will be following stuff the paint choices as closely as possible, but not the airbrushing 🙁 , as i ( currently ) don’t have the space or funds to get into it.
As a massive Star Wars fanboy, i will definitely be picking Legion up 🙂 , two Core Boxes being top of the list to provide more than enough stuff to learn the game before moving into the expansions.
Oh and not a pink stormtrooper in sight…… The thought of it makes me cry a little inside.
Really enjoyed this Vlog. I’m still not 100 percent sure if I will get into this and add more models to the painting pile.
Congratulations on another successful vlog series! Everything looks fantastic on the table.
Great looking work John, Its amazing how much detail, and quality you were able to achieve in such little time!
Excellent job, Jon. Really enjoyed this series. In fact, half way through I ordered a second starter set!
I would really like to pick up some of the Battle Kiwi models as well. These deserve to be made widely available. I think they could sell plenty.
I think they will go to retail with it, be silly not to imho 🙂 .
I think they should make them for general sale too! 😉 Will be putting them up on the website once KS send out is complete and have a few minutes…though might have to sleep for couple days first haha! If can find a UK distrib definitely be keen to look at sorting something there too 🙂
Seriously it’s great stuff, i was gutted i didn’t find the KS sooner. Once it touches down for retail in the future, i plan plenty of purchases for myself and my flgc 😀 . @spamelot , sleep is overrated ( or so they say 😉 ).
@Kantor72 lol see I thought that as well, but turns out you start losing (more) mental faculties and the ability to move becomes harder and harder 😛
Good point well made, i certainly don’t need to lose any more faculties than i have already.
Great work John. Try to resist buying into another game, but I do love me some Star Wars.
Great job, John. Making me seriously consider investing in an airbrush now, as I will be getting Legion and that AT-ST looks magnificent.
That was an awesome vlog. Really enjoyed it. Especialy the fast & simple aproach impressed me. I guess I need a Airbrush too…
Fabulously well painted for the time you had to get everything completed and the AT-AT for the star wars week John.
Well executed project all round. Everything just ties together really nicely.
So what’s the address we all send our sets to for John to paint? 😀
I’m both looking forward to painting these and at the same time concerned about my humungerous backlog *gulp*. Darn really going to have to get and learn how to use an airbrush soon.
Me too. I’ll have to go have a look at ” Airbrushing for Dummies ” thread from @dignity 😀 .
The big thing would be figuring out how to base the minis, especially the vehicles with the facing markings that could be a problem with things unless you really want something that will stand out massively from the basing scheme unless you’re doing things like urban or industrial where the straight lines and angles fit in.
More John , more John . Well he is the main reason i became a back stager keepin it real .
Great work, amazing simple paint jobs. Will try your techniques when I get the chance.
Finally got caught up with this blog, really enjoyed and loved the final result. I’ve ordered all the paints so I can try this when legion finally arrives.
