The Star Wars: The Force Awakens X-Wing set is now an official 'thing' with the coming of Force Friday where everything from the coming Star Wars films merchandise line goes on sale. See what you Fantasy Flight have shown off of the set...

X-Wing Core Box

A New Hope

As with the original X-Wing Miniatures Game Starter Set you get two TIE Fighters and the new X-Wing all of which are looking very snazzy with their new paint jobs and sculpts. The idea of the set is to be a taster, giving you a feel for the dog fights of Star Wars before you head off and buy whole loads of expansions.

X-Wing Miniatures

The gameplay of X-Wing consists of a start phase where you plan out your movement secretly on discs. These are then revealed and you resolve other actions based on your pilot and upgrade cards.

X-Wing Cards

As you can see above the different cards have abilities and other special statistics which make them interesting choices in your games of X-Wing. While there are tried and tested tactics in the game you can always find something special in and amongst the upgrades.

What I'd really love to see from Fantasy Flight are some proper scenarios for you to play rather than straight up dogfights. I'm aware that there are a few but it would be great to see some kind of campaign come out of the game with the new edition.

Will you be getting this?
