Get Rolling With FFG’s New Dice Game Star Wars: Destiny
July 31, 2016 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games appear to have seen the success of the likes of Dice Masters and have entered the Collectable Dice Game market with Star Wars: Destiny. This is their first dip into the collectable market for a very long time...
This game will pit the light side against the dark side where you take control of heroes or villains and their corresponding dice. You'll then duke it out using your teams with their special dice and the cards that give them special powers and offer up all of the extra rules like health and more.
Mechanically each of your dice has a number of faces on them which will allow you to damage your enemies, shield your own characters, gain resources, manipulate the dice, and trigger special abilities.
The dice themselves are also of incredible quality reportedly. Instead of just having stickers on the dice they have been heat treated and a scratch resistant coating has been applied to them too.
Inside each of the different Booster Packs you can pick up you will get yourself five different cards and one premium dice that will be use-able with them (you'd hope!). I think the proof is going to be in the pudding with this game.
If it can be as engrossing and tactical as some games of Dice Masters then you might get people picking this beyond just liking it for the theme.
Available at Gen Con you will also be able to get these alternative art versions of both Rey and Kylo Ren.
They are the main characters from the Starter Sets for both the Dark and Light side so it would be nice to have these as additional cards in your collection.
These cards will be for folks who take part in the demo game so you'll have to choose your side carefully!
What do you think of this games prospects?

Looks interesting. Looking forward to seeing some coverage of this at Gencon.
Kind of a mash up of their Star Wars LCG and Dicemasters. Looks like FFG are trying to muscle in on Wizkids territory.
November just feels like too long of a time to wait for the wide release! I want them now!
I hate the CCG aspect of it. I did serpent far too much money on that when I was younger. However, the more I read about this game, the more I am intrigued. And when I was able to afford it when I was younger, why shouldn’t I be able now.
Also, CCG does do great games, so I have the highest hopes that it will be more than just a great theme.
Interesting. They are freely mixing all movies so least they are not limited by any one SW trilogy.
yeah STAR WARS , never played game a collectable dice game.
so no idea if id like this or not beyond the fact its STAR WARS , and in my opinion cool by default.
the rey art is really nice.
