The E-Wing & GR-75 Rebel Transport Come To FFG’s X-Wing

X-Wing is getting something experimental and something more reliable from Fantasy Flight Games. See what you think of both the E-Wing and the GR-75 Rebel Transport that you'll all know from the films...
First up we have the very customisable E-Wing which is by all accounts the the Rebellion’s fastest, toughest, nimblest, and most versatile starfighter. It also looks pretty awesome too and has something of the Battlestar Galactica about it (although I suppose it should be the other way around).
Of course the E-Wing comes with a neat pilot in Corran Horn and you can find out some more of the details about him over on the Fantasy Flight website where they go into incredible depth about his skills.
Available now is the GR-75 Transport which comes with a whole bunch of kit and masses of tokens and even features another X-Wing to act as the escort to it.
The rules for these giant craft have already been made available on their website and hopefully soon you'll be able to re-enact the escape from Hoth on the tabletop.
What do you think?

The E wing looks like a fun addition. I’ll be adding one to my Rebel fleet.
It will make for some interesting scenarios. I’m still waiting for the to release a star destroyer.
I’m curious to see how the larger ships feature in my local meta. I think they could be a lot of fun, but I really enjoy campaign-based scenario-driven play in games. Most people, it seems, just want to play 100pt tournament format all the time, which I honestly think gets boring after a while. I hope the Star Wars license is enough to change some minds on that front, because I miss that kind of experience.
I’ve not played any campaigns yet. We’re still at the building interest stage. There are only two of us who play X Wing at the club. We had a particularly good game with some classic moments on Monday night which attracted a lot of attention. At the end of the night four more club members expressed a desire to play.
So next Monday it’s game on for the Rookies
Team games are a good way to introduce new players to the game, and this game is so well-suited to it. It’s how I got hooked. We played 100pts per side, with a vet and a rookie per side. Every planning phase we whispered to our teammates and plotted our foe’s demise, and every movement phase was like playing the turn or the river in Texas Hold’em. Revealing that movement disc and watching your opponents’ reactions was got me to invest. For some reason, that element of the game is more fun with teams.
Bring on the TIE Defender, my absolute favourite Star Wars ship.
Already got mine ordered plus two E-Wings
