Empire At War Brings Mace Windu To Star Wars: Destiny
June 20, 2017 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games has been showing off some new previews for the next big booster set coming out for Star Wars: Destiny. Here we have the first look at cards for Empire At War...
As well as bringing the events of the Clone Wars to the tabletop with this set you're also going to see some familiar faces from the Rebels TV series making an appearance too. One of the characters I'm most interested to see however is Mace Windu...
With a distinctly powerful dice as you can see and the chance to potentially run another character alongside him, even with two dice, Mace Windu could be a powerhouse on the tabletop. If you match that with Master Of The Council, a Blue Upgrade, you could potentially see Mace Windu activating multiple times per round.
You're going to need the resources to keep this going but with an upgrade like this in play suddenly you open up the possibilities for some incredibly janky plays.
Rebels & Tacticians
As well as more for the Jedi Order we also have some smugglers and tacticians coming for your Yellow and Red decks. For the scoundrels of the Star Wars universe, we have Ezra Bridger
Bringing some force powers to the tabletop as a smuggler means that you could gift him with Force Speed for example. Suddenly he becomes quite the gunslinger! Arrayed against him for the villains out there we have Thrawn.
While he doesn't look like he's going to be killing anyone anytime soon his ability to tweak the other dice in your pool and discard cards makes him a dangerous opponent. With twelve health he has a fair amount of staying power too.
I would take him as a one dice option at fourteen points and then pack out the Red characters to make him dangerous in the extreme.
What do you think of these new previews?

They are adding Thrawn! And top of that he seems like good card.
Yeah, he looks like the perfect match with eUnkar for some Crime lord shennanigans. Assuming awakenings won’t immediately be cycled out.
Awesome! I just sorted through my own collection yesterday! Got to add these! And play more of the game!
