Katherine at Food Pawn is doing some delicious sugar filled board game components. Tubs of gelatinous meeples have been delighting gamers on the show floor (and indeed, back at the OTT HQ). Clare at Kasasagi has also been making some meeple inspired jewellery to add some sparkle to your board game nights!

Checking out one of the top games of 2019, Tal Der Wikinger is the perfect game for the family which includes varying rules and tactile components for tiny hands, you play as boisterous vikings hurling cannonballs down their isles towards barrels, the barrels you knock over will allow you to move your vikings down the harbour and inevitably into the lake… SPLOOSH!
HABA have been creating some of the best games for 80 years now and with a two year running nominations from Spiel des Jahres it’s easy to see why they’re making the best games for families.

Using a circular board the art style is certainly eye catching and shines a light on on the competitive structures we might take for granted at times when they’re set in the context of the accumulation of power.

This game has been out for a while but it has been spruced up for a modern audience.

Ryan joins Tom from Themeborne to discuss and play the newest edition to the Escape From the Dark Series.
Moving away from the Fantasy series of the Dark Castle, we take things into the space age of the Dark Sector which is now available to all on Kickstarter. You may even see a few hints and callbacks to the original Dark Castle within.
Getting a quick play through we get to see how the combat has changed and how well the story has progressed with the Escape the Dark Series from Themeborne.
