UK Games Expo 2017 Live Blog – Saturday

Come and check out what’s going on at the UK Games Expo here for Day Two. We’ve got loads to get stuck into so make sure to delve in and find out more from the vendors and attendees.

We stop in to talk about this awesome looking little game called Nimbee which has you playing as buzzy bees trying to come out on top as you race around the hive.

The gameplay takes no time at all to get into and once  you've played a few games you'll begin to develop some interesting tactics.

Dawn gets to sit down with Chris from Modiphius to talk about what's coming in the near future for Star Trek: Adventures and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.

Sadly they had no models to show off just now but they are looking to reveal them in the future at Gen Con and beyond.

We stop in with Big Potato Games and discuss three of their quick and easy party games which might be great for non-gamers and series tabletop fans.

We have First Date which is a bit risque for couples, Colour Brain which explores some interesting mechanics and Chameleon which is a mix between Codenames and Spyfall for those in the know.

Dawn sits down to find out what's going on with the world of Exporiana on the tabletop.

Warlord Games are sitting down and talking through what you can expect from Exterminate! The Doctor Who Miniatures Games, and Test of Honour, which is their skirmishing Samurai game too.

We got to talk with Hawk Wargames about what they have here at the show this weekend.

With this being the last flight of the Avenger this should be a neat experience for those who come along and can explore what's happening with them and their 10mm miniatures game.

Games Workshop just opened up per-orders for the latest edition of Warhammer 40K! If you have been watching our coverage of UK Games Expo you would have seen our demo game that Justin and Simon from GW played, as well as the seminar from GW from yesterday afternoon.

So, far the response has been pretty positive and I even have seen a couple of comments that this edition may bring some back into the fold.

Besides the two-player starter set, they are offering a limited edition collector's set.

A very exciting time for Warhammer 40k players, so you better jump on this right away! It will be available in stores on June 17.

We stop in with Paizo and find out about the role-playing games they are showing off here including Pathfinder, an old staple...

...and the new Starfinder which is coming very soon indeed. This one takes things to the next level with a Sci-Fi theme!

Ian Livingstone dropped into UK Games Expo to give a seminar providing insight into his Games Workshop days, the rise of Fantasy Flight books, the craze that brewed up around Lara Croft and more.

You’ll even be able to dive in and find out what his top ten board games are!

After amazing LARP weapons caught my eye at the Grange Live Gaming booth, my conversation with him was even better! Little did we know Grange has a 6 story gaming cafe in Birmingham that features different themed floors for immersive gaming experiences. Apparently there's a hospital themed floor, a banking themed floor and even a sci fi Alien one.

It's always great to catch up with Joe and hear all about what's new and exciting with Frostgrave. There's just something magical about putting together your band of adventurers in whichever way you'd like (especially if there's a way to work in a dwarf or two!).
