Phil interviews Harold Coyle
Phil spoke to Harold Coyle, author of the Team Yankee novel, via Skype. You can see a fairly brief excerpt from the interview here, and we will bring you the full conversation next week – either as videos or a podcast, or perhaps both.
Unfortunately the video quality isn't perfect, but it's a very interesting conversation, and we're absolutely thrilled to be able to share it with you (not least because the first time we tried to record it, the resulting video file had no sound! Nightmare!)
American Infantry Gear
Aaron brought in some of his collection of 1980s-era US Army gear to show us. Check it out...

Why do I feel like Al Pacino in The Godfather – Part III?
“Just when I thought I was out … they PULL ME BACK IN!”
I’m banging the TY drum at my LFGS.
I haven’t touched my models since the boot camp. This has given me the perfect excuse to get some painting done.
Cool, there’s a store running demo games within reasonable distance from me. Might go this weekend if I don’t have too much housework to do.
Nothing remotely near me as always.
Bannon’s Boys (incl extra M1) arrived promptly at my doorstep 😎
Still waiting for the rulebook tho..
I’m also still undecided how to paint the tanks..MERDC, NATO or the historically accurate plain Forest Green..hmm..
I will follow this with great interest.
We (@Gri3elda and I) decided on the NATO tri-colour camo for her US force. It just looks better than the MERDC in our most humble opinion.
I did go mad and are trying to do the British Berlin brick on mine
It can be a really interesting weekend 🙂
This weekend just gets better and better 😀
Hmm, would realy have liked a one click starter set for this
6 Grachs. Good lord!
Both starter boxes inbound for Monday apparently plus rules plus a couple of A10s and Su25s for some extra support. Planning to get some demo games going in my area to build interest…. Actually doing a test 1 35 scale M1 in Merdc camo for a try out ATM…
Got Bannon’s boys up and running!! M1s are really nice and easy to complete. Great detail. Gonna do the MERDC camo for them. Putting together the Huey was a pain and the T-72s are late, though. Read thru the rule book and can’t wait to fire some dice!!
Same here. The store I went to in California only had the Bannon’s Boys and rulebook this weekend. Soviets expected later and they will do demo games next weekend.
By the way, why include the option to build the A1 variant of the Abrams? Are they foreshadowing a definite expansion or simply laying groundwork for a hazy possibility for the kit?
Also I hope there will be West German and British forces available after the first wave. I want to field some Panther 2s.
I got to get me this stuff
Not to be a Debbie Downer but I will be able to pick up my Americans on Tuesday. 🙁 My shop is low on the list of order preference. Gonna watch the heck out of this and get my paints all lined up and then wait.
Got the American box and book, too bad no Soviets yet. I was very happy to see the extra Abrams in the Bannon box. Models are great, easy fit and clean. Can’t wait to play some everyone’s Soviets show up. Our game store had a play mat printed to look like a paved road and buildings, anyone know if that is going to be available for sale?
