Salute 2021 Live Blog!

Wargames Terrain Workshop have some really fun and interesting kits in their collection alongside some fun miniatures too.

It’s worth taking a look at them, especially as another of the smaller companies here, as they might have something you’ve not considered.

As Duncan Rhodes and the other judges pull their favourites from the cabinets, here is a selection of those chosen for final judgement…

Moonstone is a whimsical fantasy skirmish game for 2-4 players, which sees you leading fairytale inspired characters across the dark lands in search of precious Moonstones… and here is a look at one of their demonstration tables here today!

See what you make of some of the fun pieces of terrain that you’re able to pick up from the folks at BLOTZ. These folks are another smaller company doing some fun pieces.

There are some neat options in their range so make sure to take a closer look as part of the video and over on their website.

I found it awesome that we had some folks putting together a bit of 54mm Inquisitor here at Salute. It’s ace that people are not only still playing the game but coming up with ways to add more characters into the mix.

Inquisitor was certainly one of those bold experiments by Games Workshop that didn’t quite work out. Did you have loads of the miniatures?

The Naval Wargames Society is at Salute 2021 where they are showing off an amazing participation game where they are taking SAGA onto the high seas.

This is a fun participation game that features some mighty Anglo-Saxons going up against deadly foes. With some tweaked rules and a system based on 1st Edition, this was well worth having a go at.

A collection of gentlefolk have put together some rules and a rather nifty campaign system for playing out The Year Of Liberty and The Irish Rising of 1798.

This has then come together as a rather fun participation game here at the event which features some stunning-looking terrain. I love anything that has a proper castle in it and looks anywhere near a siege!

Free talks to the folks from No More Damsels about what they are doing as an organisation to build more welcoming gaming clubs.

Make sure to check out their website and more as this sounds like a solid way of making our gaming clubs all the more epic.

Another interesting one that I bumped into today. This comes from The Continental Wars Society who played out the Fight At Bronnzell.

This is a fight that played out in 1850 between the Prussians and the German Confederation of Bavaria and Austria. It was another one of those that looked like a fun spectacle and showed off some interesting forces for a conflict I had little knowledge of.

Gerry has a chat with the folks at Olmec Games about The Drowned Earth. They have some stunning miniatures in the mix and, of course, some great-looking tables too – once you get the inspiration.

Another fun one as we take a look at another smaller company, Full Metal Miniatures. They had us being quite taken by their collection of awesome Vietnam War miniatures (and more) in 28mm.

We catch up with the team from Osprey Games and talk about what they have been doing recently. The Silver Bayonet has just been released this weekend and a new expansion for Undaunted is on the cards.
