Gen Con 2018 Live Blog: Day Two

It’s day two of GenCon and we are here bright and early and ready to go.

There’s plenty going on, so be sure to let us know in the comments if there is something you would like us to cover.

IDW Games have a ton of new games with them at GenCon, with the Heroes in a Half Shell themselves, Spongebob Squarepants, and the deductive reasoning of Death Note. Meanwhile, Masque of the Red Death sees you waltzing through one of Poe’s most famous stories.

Games Workshop have brought a lot of exciting new releases with them, letting fans and players get their first look at the miniatures for Adeptus Titanicus and The Battle of Pelennor Fields.

They also have a bunch of exclusive new board games that will be heading out for retail at locations such as Barnes & Noble.

Justin stops by to find out what has been happening with Who Goes There, a recently kickstarted board game that captures all the claustrophobic paranoia of the original short story that later gave us movies like The Thing.

Everything Epic are at GenCon showing off their board game of the cult classic Big Trouble in Little China.

Dawn stopped off to have a chat with Walker from Red Republic Games about all things Gladiator. Arena Rex is booming and they’re showing off their newest faction- the Greeks! There’s just something awesome about gaming in a Colloseum. I give it a thumbs up. (see what I did there?)

Every year GenCon is home to a writer’s symposium, where hundreds of writers and readers get to learn from industry professionals.

This year includes talks and signings from well known authors such as Terry Brooks and Scott Lynch, as well as various seminars and talks geared to help both wannabe writers and those who want to improve their role play game mastery.

Miniature Building Authority have a new Kickstarter coming out this September, and Gianna caught up with Kirk to find out all about it. 12-14 new buildings for HarborTown will be on the way to set the perfect scene for your game table. And naturally, we had to talk about modern! Kirk showed off the latest vehicle being added to the range as well as some fantastic scatter.

Syrinscape provide a series of cool soundboards to enhance your gaming sessions. At GenCon, they announced that they will be working on official soundboards for Dungeons & Dragons. You can also now access them online, letting you share the experience across the world.

Devir have a new game with them this year called Silk, a stylish game in which you are tasked to farm silk from some cute (but strange) looking creatures.
