Dropfleet Commander Boot Camp – Sunday

Welcome to the third day of the Boot Camp where we're getting stuck into the awesomeness from today.

With a big joint game on the way and more to come we should be fit for an epic day!

As well as the big games going on (more on the way on that soon) we've also been seeing other folks play out some games and expand on their fleets to try things out.

We've got plenty more on the way too in terms of some painting with John so watch this space!

We're back with the Space Station Build videos today and we're trying to work out where Warren is.

We take a look at some of the Studio Miniatures that Dave bought in from Hawk. They are rather special and rarely get to the tabletop so maybe, just maybe, they will enjoy a game or two soon.

We're catching up with Dave as he talks through his plans for a linked game of Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander. We will have four boards of Dropfleet battling against one big board of Dropzone Commander run by Rasmus and Rob of the Drop Beasts!

We're going to be following John throughout the day as he puts together a tutorial as he paints up the Battleship from the UCM for Warren's fleet.

We're now breaking for some food and getting stuck into some grub before the folks get back to some big games later on today.

We'll be back with an update on the big Mega Game very soon!

The first sector gets hit during the big combined game between Dropfleet/Dropzone Commander.

We'll see where this shot goes and whether or not the ground forces are moving into position to fight back.

We're back with John for a moment to talk with him about the first stages of airbrushing his Battleship. Well, Warren's Battleship!

We also hear about some of the tips you can use if things start to go a bit iffy.

We're diving into the Mega Game as we check out the destruction of city sectors. The Dropfleet folks are firing down onto the planet...

...but the Dropzone guys are firing back now that they have control of the Orbital Lasers down on the planet below. What will end up getting destroyed?

We're back with John as he's done a bit of the red on these ships to give them a hint of colour.

There's still not 'too' much to look at just yet but we will have proper close-up images of the ships in the next video so don't worry!

As well as the big game we also have a bunch of people still playing their smaller games.

This one was great and features a Fleet by Gareth which he painted up this weekend. The UCM are looking very nice.

We catch up with John again where he's going to be discussing how to apply washes and detail to the Battleship.

It would be awesome to see what you folks say about some freehand naming on this ship too! Get your comments in and John might be able to get it onto the side of the vessel.

The big game is coming to a close. Justin has finished his game and we see what impact this is going to have on the other table where Rasmus and Rob are still battling it out on the tabletop below the orbital melee going on above.

We find out how the Dropfleet/Dropzone Linked Game ended as we see if the good guys or the bad guys won and exactly what's happened with the table below all of the space debris!

It's time for us to find out how things are developing as we move towards the point where a lot of the Space Stations are taking shape.

Some folks have been having fun away from the big games and playing out this epic Tag Team battle between Battleships!

There have been all manner of torpedoes being fired and plenty of bad blood between the ships as they duke it out. I think this qualifies as 'war games' right?

As the day comes to a close we're talking with Dave about what's next for the future of both Dropfleet and Dropzone. We're kicking things off talking Dropfleet...

...what would you like to see for the game in the near year? We're really excited about Scourge invested Space Stations.

Justin and Rob are running some folks through Dropfleet and getting deeper into the basics as we continue this Sunday.

We've played a lot of games but it's always awesome to get back into it and play more basic games to see if you've got anything wrong!

Justin is also talking with Dave about what is next for their lovely baby, the epic Dropzone Commander.

There are new personalities, epic vehicles, and much more coming soon to push things forward for the ground forces.

We come to the end of our rather epic Space Station Build videos and look towards wrapping up the different builds.

So, we've talked about what's on the cards for next year. One of the big things to set your sights on though is the fact that Hawk Wargames are going to be ramping up the amount of Organised Play content they have set up.

This will include large tournaments and campaigns as well as smaller events at local stores and clubs too. So, keep an eye out!

We check out this awesome fleet from noyjatat which was painted up over the weekend. I love the design of the ships and this paint scheme really bought them to life.

What do you think of the UCM paint job here?

We finish up with John and decide on a name for this particular Battleship.

There were some good suggestions and we go through a few but I think the one we landed on makes for a goodun!
