CMON Expo 2018 Live Blog!

We are in Atlanta Georgia USA for CMoN Expo 2018. We are ready to bring you the latest and greatest in gaming goodness from CMoN.

If you thought Black Plague was cool in 2D out of the box, then prepare to have your mind blown if you got to play in this set up. This is one of the many events running through the weekend and players were loving it!

We give you a quick glimpse of the Expo floor and all of the games already in progress. Also, you might see a game designer or some other famous face.

I think I may have found a new favorite game! Dragon Castle kind of turns Mahjong on its head by making it competitive. Play revolves around a center board with absolutely beautiful tiles. Here's that great tactile aspect we often talk about. On your turn, you can take tiles to create your own board in front of you. Your goal is to complete shrines and claim the most points. There's tons of strategy and it's easy to learn and fun to play.

If you like a good mystery, then you absolutely need to check out 13 Clues. This is a deduction game where each player is trying to uncover which 3 cards are hidden from their view- in plain sight of everyone else! Game play revolves around paying close attention to what you see and how everyone else answers the questions. It's a race to see who can solve their mystery first. It was super fun, but requires a lot of thinking. You HAVE to pay attention!

We take a very quick peek at some of the minis offered for Dark Age and Wrath of Kings.

People, it has marbles! Gizmos is one of the latest games from CMON. If you like Potion Explosion, you will love this game- it's like Potion Explosion on steroids. In this one, players compete to build the most Gizmos to score the most victory points in the end. There's quite a bit of strategy as well as a screw your neighbor aspect in that you really need to pay attention to what your opponents are up to.

Welcome to Day 2 from CMoN Expo in Atlanta.

Sit back and listen to two of the best game creators talk about their game A Song of Ice and Fire. Be amazed at their creative and thought process. One thing I guarantee you is that you will laugh. Great to listen to while painting or working on some other project.

CMON Expo is the perfect place to start your road to the Crystal Brush. Painters gather to work on their craft and get feedback from Jen. Needless to say, their are some beautiful pieces! The dragon blows my mind!

It's no surprise that A Song of Ice & Fire is super popular here at the show. CMON has production copies on the table for folks to game with and try out, but what I was really excited to see is the additional studio painted minis they had.

We were invited to host a game of The Godfather: Corleone's Empire and have gamers sign up to play a full game with the Special Guests. It was a great game and many a man went swimming with the fishes.

I've been looking forward to playing this again since Gen Con. In Richard the Lionheart, players will work together (kind of) in support of the throne or not. Each turn, you bid your pledge to the cause to advance the trackers. When I mentioned "kind of" before, that's because each player has a secret victory condition that may or may not help the team achieve its goal- but in the end, only one will win.

So I am taking upon myself to take on the speed painting challenge tomorrow.

So, how did I do?

It's always nice to see when people are loving their games, and it's obvious when you see folks painting up the minis. Rising Sun has absolutely stunning minis, and they look even better with some paint.

Eric Lang talks with us about his next big game, Death May Die. It is all about the insanity of Cthulhu.

It's a full house today and there's no just walking up to a demo table. You choose your game and stake out a spot to make sure you get a place at the table for the next round. It definitely seems the clear favorites this year are A Song of Ice & Fire and Gizmos.

One of the many cool creative outlets here is CMON's kitbashing contest. In the Curse of Frankenfest, you can sit down with the hodgepodge of CMON spare bits and your imagination to see what kind of monster you can dream up. The case is filling up with awesome entries.

This year's latest addition to Arcadia Quest is Arcardia Quest: Riders. The minis were adorable before, but look even cuter riding along in their pets!

I got the opportunity to learn Rising Sun today- what a cool game! It's a lot of info to cram into a demo, but they did a great job and left me wanting to play more. Coincidentally, I won!

The beautiful studio paints just need to be looked at. So here's more from A Song of Ice & Fire.
