April 12, 2014 by brennon
As well as the vendors and the gaming tables there is also a painting competition run at Salute each year. Here are a few of our choice picks at the moment which we thought were worth checking out...
Updated!
Here's to the first batch and some awesome historical miniatures...
The painting is of a pretty awesome quality and it's fantastic to see a lot more than just Games Workshop models on display. You get to see historical, fantasy, sci-fi and more.
Did you see anything fun in the painting competition?
It’s great to see some beautifully painted Eden miniatures and that Ultramarines flyer/speeder is just an inspired conversion.
If I were running a painting competition, I think I’d automatically disqualify anything that came on a wooden plinth … with a name plate.
where did that Mass Effect Wrex come from?!!! i want one!!!!
Hey dude i made that one. Sadly It’s a one off sculpt i did just for me so hes not commercially available, sorry!
that Ultramarines flyer/speeder got a few drop pod parts on it not to hard to make 🙂 still looks nice 🙂
It’s not the difficulty of making it, it’s having the idea to do it which makes it an amazing build.
That Wrex should be on the short-list for the top spot, not just because it is an awesome paint job, but an amazingly well done conversion as well.
Aw thanks man! It’s actually a sculpt (except the gun and base- i got lazy) really cool to see it up here!
That Columbo is amazing! My wife’s a big fan.
Cool scene from “Jason and the Argonauts,” which was shot with stop-motion in the days before CGI.

Skip to 1:34:06 to just see the battle with skeletons.
Didn’t realise ShadowStug’s sister got into the post too 🙂 Desert Shad FTW 🙂
