Romeo talks about Battle Foam UK at Salute 2011
March 16, 2012 by beerogre
So after speaking to Romeo at Salute, he was even more excited than normal when he told us about his launch of Battle Foam UK!
Battle Foam will now have their very own UK based manufacturing facility, making their top of the range gaming bags, but without the crippling P&P from the US.
As a friend of all the guys at Beasts of War, we wish him evey success in his new venture, but of course being Romeo, that's not the only announcement he has... he's also producing a brand new modular MERCS bag!
Warren interviewed Romeo at Salute, so stay tuned to see what he had to say about his new products... and perhaps a few other more specialist items!
I once waited over 8 months to get all the trays for my full 1520XL bag because of customs and lack of stock and communication from a big UK site, and that put me off ever trying to buy Battlefoam again.
It is really expensive, but I still love their stuff, so this might bring me back to Batlefoam
Yep… the foam and bags will now be manufactured in the UK, which will mean no silly stay in customs for your Battlefoam gear.
We’re looking forward to speaking to Romeo later this month… there’s even a chance he might join us for a TURN 8… so stay tuned!

Yeah. One of the things I was worried while considering buying a Battlefoam bag was the delivery time. And knowing Polish customs I might wait even longer. I hope this will make Battlefoam easier to come by in the EU in a very short time. I will certainly buy one for myself.
If Romeo is on the show it will prob run to turn 9 at least… 🙂
Got my customized Warmachine bag last week (2½ weeks from order to delivery in Sweden).
It was awsome!
I think I might have ordered my bag from the same place but I have only been waiting 4 months so this will be good news as I was thinking about getting my brother in law a 420 for Christmas
That’s interesting. I wanted a bag that would fit all my orks in it, but Feldherr’s bags are just too small. And I didn’t want to buy their’s or GW’s hardcase, beacause IMHO they look lame as hell. Maybe now I might be able to order one from their UK site. Shipping inside the EU is so much easier that overseas. I call it a great idea. It’s also a nice thing hearing another company bound to our hobby goes international. Thumbs up guys and I hope you’ll make a great profit out of it!
This is good news, of course getting this stuff from wayland is great if you happen to need the stuff they have in stock, but the custom tray stuff being ordered and made here can only beneficial to us all.
There’s also the point that the hobby must be in a reasonably healthy state for this sort of investment, even allowing for the fact they cater to more than just wargamers.
Guys its ok to mention us and not just as “Big UK site”, the problem with moving large quantities of light but very bulky items is that no matter how you do it the shipping costs are extreme. To keep prices in the UK anywhere near reasonable we had to ship in bulk (delivery which arrived last week) was 16 8 foot high pallets. And as sales were expanding it is hard to predict the next periods sales figures with any accuracy. We now have the source for all the core range items almost instantly and bags in large quantities,… Read more »
Credit where credit is due, you guys were very helpful and most of the delays were clearly out of your hands
Sweet, Battlefoam UK! That means I will likely be able to order it from the UK to Canada, with much cheaper (or free, depending on the website) postage!
Good ! now i’m realy thinking about getting a customized one for my painting gear, with room for minis as well…

is that a bird at 4:09…
i cant wait for this always wanted to get some Battlefoam but it cost to much to get sent over.
either that or some1 went as a buzzard
What a wonderful logo and stand that was in the background 🙂
YES, Battle foam uk! I have wanted a battle foam bag for ages but stoped because of the cost of bringing it over to the UK.
No as long as they do the right thing and let us guys in Australia order from the UK. The biggest hurdle Battle Foam have for is are the insane prices charged by USPS to get the stuff here. Royal Mail on the other hand would have to be one of the cheapest (and surprisingly) most reliable mail carriers I have dealt with.
I have so much more custom stuff I want to order, but shipping prices from the US kill it.
southend is east of london not south
Heh, shame about the saddle bags, having a motorbike as my primary means of transport means I’m limited to how much I can carry to and from games with me. The backpack sounds interesting though.

Only because I’d want someone to tell me…
Im off to southend for university next year…..how convenient. Looking forward to these, custom travel bags for minitures are really useful.
Great news, I am getting my bag as soon as I will be able to order it without the ridiculous price increse given by shipping and taxes from US.
there’s one thing I want to see from Battle Foam and that’s a multi system bag so that i can carry my Warmachine with my infinity then when I’m out gaming I can have both sitting ready to play. 🙂

Your problem is you have a small bag 😉
If you had a huge bag like me you could fit everything you wanted in it!!! 😉
