Grumpy Old War Gamers: Youtuber Panel

Video Sponasors: Wayland Games - Infinity
As well as the games and the painting competition we also had a chat with the Youtubers down in the bar here at Tabletop Nation. Where better to have a chinwag about our hobby?
Warren discussed women in gaming, where the industry is headed and many other things too including the always elephant in the room, Games Workshop.
And a big thanks to the Great Jojoman for the b cam in this video. 🙂
Please do this again next year it’s awesome 🙂
awsome very good guys.
I only watched a bit of the video, but did that guy in the wig think he was funny? After hearing him twice I switched off.
Come to think of it, too many of the ‘panel’ were trying too hard to be funny; and failing miserably.
Guys, let the humour come naturally. One final thing, leave the ‘potty humour’ behind; it is dull, ‘old hat’ and frankly very boring.
Yeah, I thought the panel thingi was a bit lacking. I think the topics brought up werent that suited for the panelists and no one seemed to be well prepared.
All in all a good idea, but I think, if they had brought 1 or 2 industry insiders into this hobby heavy round, the panel thing might have become interesting. Really looking forward to the next Grumpy Con.
I think the funniest thing I heard from the guy in the wig was when of the balloons burst , (s)he was in the toilet outside and I heard a distinct pop.
I smirked my @rse off…
I was disposing of them, so I could upgrade to a larger cup size. 😉
I thought the panel was very interesting i never realized all those celebrities played 40k.
Zoey i dunno if he’s just trying to be a dick, but he added nothing to the conversation, he wasn’t funny, and if i was female gamer i would probably be insulted by it all, especially saying that the answer to all the problems is more pink minis and cats…
Interesting panel, it was good to see some YouTubers on there. However, I have to agree with Yoshi’s comment regarding the preparation of the panel in reference to the nature of the topics. Perhaps, come next year, some representatives from gaming companies or something similar would be excellent, and more beneficial to the convention.
Zoey Berry was a very bad idea, and nearly unwatchable.
I enjoyed seeing Andy (BoW) back in the swing of things and giving an insightful perspective from a different angle.
Always great to hear from Temps and Andy (BoW). Joey comes across as very intelligent too. The “Zoey” guy is very hard to watch though. I get that its meant to be awkward but personally its not enjoyable to watch and didn’t add anything to this. I’m sure he is a nice guy, but it just seems more awkward and uncomfortable than actually funny. All in all it looked like a great event though.
Actually I have to admit, that watching Zoey made me feel a bit wierd. Just like I felt when watching Brent on the Office.
And I have to admit the he does make me chuckle… in a very uncomfortable way 😉
And the more I watch it the more I enjoy it lol (Probably says more about me and dark humour)
But I think that’s the point.
Zoey broke the record for dislikes on Blue Table Painting’s channel. Let’s see if she can do the same for you guys. 😉
I like all the other characters andy2d6 does. I think he’s had his fun with joey and needs to move on before awkward turns to rude. I thought his guffawing Warren was particularly good on his bow mickey take……..maybe an extreme miniatures stand would go down well nxt year….complete with an extreme conversions and/or brush tossing category in the painting comp to go with it!
oh just in case…….the suggestions are taken from characters on andy2d6’s youtube channel not just random thoughts lol!
Next year I’m pitching for them to let Outback Kenneth host a 2 minute speed painting contest.
bonza mate………..only reeeeal men will have the balls to enter that one!
First off people need to lighten up. Its a panel of inexperienced interviewees. Many of them never seen each other most likely until that day. It’s not like a panel of movie stars that have scripted responses for scripted questions. Also the point of Zoey seems obvious to me as a play on Joey as she is one of only a handful of women that promotes wargaming by youtobe. The entire point of Zoey it be as disturbing, unsettling and ridiculous as posable and still be believable that someone could be like that. It’s not meant to be taken serious… Read more »
I think most of us realise that mp its just not everyone thinks that character is particularly entertaining or fun. Just opinions though and each to heir own. I think his other characters are much more entertaining and much better parodies/observations. Awkward comedy is a bit Meh these days. If you guys like your Brent you just need to watch back a few Weekenders for Stus awesome pained looks to camera…..Stu didn’t used to sell paper before TTN did he?
Keep the ideas coming for what people would like to see next year please.
Battle reports are always good to see. I would love to see Joey Berry vs Templars Crusade 🙂
Wargamer Sandwich : * Two slices of Foam ( BattleFoam works preferably ). * Hard plastic sprue that suit your taste and jaw resistence. Finecast sprue are easy to digest and had tons of extra tasty flash. * Five witches resin casted, metal cast only for veterans. * Green stuff on top. * Sprinkle with scenic sand, or grass if you want a more vegetarian one. * Lastly the special sauce : Model Mates sauces are recommended by Warren , Quickshade are for quick snacks and Secret Weapon if you want to do radioactive baby poo. WARNING : Don’t eat… Read more »
I’ll go with that sandwich as long as the special sauce isn’t man mayo.
Lemmy : The only Chaos Space Marine that is loved by Khrone and Slaanesh. The best choice!
Lemmy is so beyond Khorne and Slaanesh……
