Best Family Game – Sushi Go Party — Surprised it was not Codenames. Would like to know the other nominees.
Best Euro Game – SubTerra — IMHO, Sleeper hit of 2017 and will be as popular as the Forbidden Series of games. Very well done. And, as a backer of the KS cannot wait to get my copy later this year.
Congrats to the winners.
The third largest games expo in the world, not bad.
Dropfleet did well
Well done to all, and more so to Hawk Wargames for 4 top honors
I have to ask what makes a game “American Style”
It’s best defined in opposition to ‘Euro Game’. It used to be the case that ‘Ameritrash’ was used, but as it’s a pejorative term then the more neutral ‘American Style’ is sometimes used now. ‘American’ games are relatively heavy on theme and luck, and are much more likely to incorporate direct conflict. Many GW board games would come under the label. Eurogames, by contrast, are light on theme, light on direct conflict, heavy on strategy, and usually have more streamlined mechanics and are quicker to play. Settlers of Catan is probably the most famous Eurogame.
All games I need to try out!
Wow, dropfleet commander cleaned up. Great Job.
