The Enforcer Interceptor Becomes A Reality For Mantic’s Warpath
September 1, 2015 by brennon
Mantic Games showed off the work that's going into their Enforcer Interceptor, a rather awesome looking flyer that we'll be seeing hit the tabletop alongside Warpath sooner (hopefully) rather than later. See what you think of it...
As you can see here the underneath of the vehicle has a big troop transport section that I imagine can detach if it needs to. It's almost like the kind of troop transports that Warren was working on with the Imperial Guard of Warhammer 40,000.
The huge metal additions on the wings, I assume, are to stabilise the Interceptor as it comes in to land using its VTOL technology. I think the overall look of the vehicle has something of the Skyranger from XCOM in it and the Pelican from Halo.
Both of those are good things and I think this is a sign of good things to come!
What do you make of it?

i think is really good. to improve it IMHO the landing gears should be improved, since it should be able to land without having the docking bay touch the floor (it’s removable isn’t it?)
Love it. Don’t play Warpath but I can see that being used for Stargrunt II. And I’ve always fancied putting together an XCOM-style skirmish game, you’re right, that’d make a cracking Skyranger.
I hope you also plan to have the troops gunned down as they exit the Skyranger, in true XCOM style.
I am “doing” that now. BAsically featuring a small squad from infinity and using infinity rules. They will love this craft for transport. Was looking for such a transport but it was hard to find.
Anyways: missions would range from (mantic)zombies in battlesystems modern ruins, hasselfree talibans in a dessert scape, perhaps som tyranids and/or grys models also in battesystems ruins.
At any rate I think infinity rules are the way to go.
That’s a nice aircraft to put on any futuristic landig pad / starport.
I will buy one (or more) to use as a piece of terrain in my Infinity games.
Was thinking the exact same thing, will have to see what the eventual cost of the model is first though.
I immediately thought that would be an excellent scenario piece for infinity.. Anything from smuggling cargo to a get to the choppa mission..
i’m taking that this is going to have to be plastic as resin and metal would be cost prohibitive
Might it be the paint job, but I think it looks like a toy, kinda reminds me of some Lego space vehicle.
I believe I’m in minority here, but I’m far from being impressed by that spacecraft.
In fairness all 28mm aircraft look like toys, just some look more like preschool toys (I’m looking at you GW StormTalon) and others more older toys.
A grittier look would make it look less toyish, but then it wouldn’t look like an enforcer ship. The ship and miniatures combined would give a better look.
Nice rig, but the pod looks a bit awkward. Still, if the price is right, I don’t mind putting in the time on a mod.
if only there was a Mass Effect TTG
Perfect as an infinity objective!
It’s got a nice Gundam look to it that suits Infinity. Funny how a lot of wargame stuff is starting to look like the toys I played with growing up. I’m not complaining, it’s just quite funny. Tomy would make a killing if they reopened their stores today.
That is really impressive looking flyer.
Now that is a drop ship.
now is it just me or is that a ripoff of firefly?
zorg, No mate you are not alone in that type of thought. However when you think drop ship it must be hard these days not to make it in some way familiar. If it’s to be piloted by humans there are some things we need to touch off a reaction of ‘ha! yes I can see that as a …?’ If it was a completely random design we would be perhaps a little less forgiving. If it was a 100% direct rip off of another model then again we would be not happy. I think they hit a happy medium but… Read more »
The other two vehicles they made were truly ugly and this is a giant leap from them. I would be embarrassed to place the other buggy thing on the table but this I could see myself with a few being terrain and transports.
Not liking this negative vibes on the thumbs down guise Its not like the people disagreeing are having a rant here. They are just voicing an opinion with valid back up and argument. Come on just think how negative and lifeless this world would be if we totally agreed on everything. We would have to start wars just to break the monotone hum in the back of your brains. C’mon get real guys and did they really really need a negative number being left.
I don’t play Warpath and, in all honesty, I’m unlikely to. however this does look like it would work very well as a terrain piece for an Infinity game. It’s a similar style to the Antenociti’s workshop stuff
O look I have a fan.
