Empress Miniatures have put together a set of rules for you to download for Modern Combat games. Danger Close is based on Some Corner of a Foreign Field by Matt Moran and has now been adapted for their current range of modern infantry...

The purchase of these rules gets you the A4 sized, laminated, rules and uses D20 dice so you'll want to snap up a few of them.

"...each figure is allotted Skills & Drills to classify the figures abilities. There are five levels of Skills & Drills and, when linked to a choice of weapon, you can considerably change the abilities of the figures under your command.

Combat creates levels of stress through a game. This stress affects morale to different degrees depending on the type of force you are playing with. As the figures come under increased threat they become more stressed and their abilities suffer."

This sounds like a great rules set for trying out modern combat scenarios on the tabletop. We'll have to get Dawn & Gianna from the team to take a look at this and see what they think of it.
