Warcradle Chat – The Dystopian Age
June 28, 2018 by dignity
Roberto and Stu from Warcradle Studios are in to tell us about their consolidated game world setting The Dystopian Age.
You may already be familiar with some of the games that place in The Dystopian Age - Wild West Exodus, Dystopian Wars, and Armoured Clash.
The guys describe how the games have been brought together into a cohesive universe and describe how the design process is influenced by this setting.
Are you excited to play out your own cross-game campaigns?

Brilliant video the models look good especially the ships the plane is also great.
I’m sorry, but I can’t get behind this. There was no reason to combine these two settings. Unless something amazing happens, I think I will be staying on the sidelines of this.
Upon hearing the news about the combination of Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus etc. I was sceptical to say the least. But now the chaps at Warcradle have indeed peaked my interest.
There were/are certain design elements that I found annoying about Wild West Exodus that turned me off the game, mainly cow catchers on all the vehicles I seem to remember. But from what has been discussed here I’m now very interested. Especially the (10mm?) Armoured Clash game. The different scales for different types of engagement I find particularly interesting. So well done chaps, keep up the good work.
Gawd bless ya Warcradle. WWX is fantastic and I’d rather see Dystopian Wars continue in this new universe rather than die away. Never been one to cut my nose off to spite my face.
I am loving what Warcradle has done to save these two dead games. Can’t wait for more… of everything … basically.
I don’t know what they’re paying Roberto but it’s not enough. The art/aesthetic of the Dystopian Age is fantastic.
Beautiful artwork and lovely to see the effort going into making one unified world with a single story and design aesthetic. I think the scenarios that Justin describes do give a huge amount of cool possibilities for cross-game scenarios and campaigns.
I can understand how if you were invested in the previous Dystopian Wars setting it might be sad to see it go, but I hope the possibilities that come from combining the two will win people over.
