Looks like an L-8 to me.
Looks great as a factory fresh dirigible. Any pointers for air/sea weathering?
a fantastic job John will look great floating over a battleship an bombing the hell out of it.
Good on John for saying “This didn’t work, but here’s how to do it.” Noobs like me wouldn’t know the difference.
Just the right amount of Dakka
Such beautiful models, and it looks like pretty good game too.
Nice guide on painting this up, thanks John.
Great paint job, I like the idea of making it nice and bright.
Big ships drew me in.
Who doesn’t love a Zeppelin.
Great work John
Nice little paint tutorial @johnlyons, i like how the mini turned out. I was not sure about the gold when you mentioned using it, as i hate how much it get`s used on a lot of minis these days. On this occasion it looks great, considering you added a wash over it and toned it down a bit. Great looking mini, and one i would like to have ago at.
Love to see some direction on an intimidating model!
I’m curious, can you tell me the reason you use the inks for the panel lining instead of something Tamiya’s panel liner? I think it looks great, just wondering if its just a personal choice or is there an advantage to it. My only thing on this one is man that finish kind of dulls out the gold a bit, although if you didn’t do it, it would be REALLY inyourface gold. I did exactly the same thing as you with preshading on a old project and then airbrushing metallics, I guess I don’t feel so silly now.
