Strahd The Deadly D&D Vampire Goes Hunting With Gale Force Nine
April 11, 2016 by brennon
Gale Force Nine have added another Collector's Series miniature to their Dungeons & Dragons range. They are following along with the theme of the latest adventure at Castle Ravenloft with a miniature of Count Strahd von Zarovich atop his steed, Beucephalus...
The miniature you see here has Beucephalus rearing up, flaming hooves and tail flickering in the night, as Strahd points out his next victim.
"Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below."
I quite like the horse here but I'm not too sure on the vampire himself. Something about the facial details doesn't quite work for me but the rest of the model is rather awesome looking. If you're looking for a proper foe to face at the end of your Curse of Strahd campaign then this could be a good shout.
I really like the flaming horse - Nightmares are fantastic creatures and it's good to see more of them. The cloak of Strahd is also rather well detailed with his crest emblazoned on the back of it.
What do you think of this addition to the Collector's Series?
Drop your thoughts below...

Not the best they made, but look good enough if I ever get around to doing the undead army I would use him as a general
Those are rather good.
Good looking models,
Is beucephalus related to shadowfax?
It’s clearly named after Bucephalus, who was Alexander the Great’s horse.
Looks like the horse got tangled up in the cross-ties and is about to fall over on top of that goof.
Looks a little bit kack
Like the horse… rider, not so much.
The elephant in the room is of course that if you play the actual adventure, Strahd will never appear on horseback…
