Gale Force Nine To Drop Big Demons Into D&D Collectors Series
October 6, 2015 by brennon
Gale Force Nine have added a big ol' Demon to their Dungeons & Dragons Collectors Series range and it's none other than the head honcho of death and destruction, Orcus. That's not all either since the mighty Demogorgon from the cover of the new book is also coming soon...
Orcus Greets You
Orcus here is taking a bit of chill time here sitting atop his skeletal throne. He is quite the classic Dungeons & Dragons beast and while a little odd to have on the tabletop would make a perfect reminder for a party of adventurers that dangerous foes lurk in the shadows.
Interestingly you might also want to try and paint this up as some kind of statue. It might seem heresy to some people but I think that it would work wonders to see someone work on this in stone with plenty of ace weathering effects.
I think the model having a bit more weight to it actually adds to this idea of him being demonic royalty. He has maybe become somewhat lethargic in his 'age' but I'm sure he would still be able to smash around a group of adventurers.
Demogorgon Doom
Also coming to Essen this year is a preview of the 200mm tall Demogorgon that is going to be one hell of a project for someone to get stuck into.
The Demogorgon is painted in the style of the new monster from the cover of Rage Of Demons. I still remember seeing the Demogorgon for the first time in the 4th Edition Monster Manual (would you believe it!) when it was bright orange and black.
This is certainly one of the most impressive sculpts we've seen from Gale Force Nine and even though I much prefer the Dracolich and their Red Dragon I could see this being a big winner for a lot of D&D fans.
What do you think?

These are very cool.
Those look really good.
orcus looks good.
I think they pull them off rather well.
Not a fan of Orcus, but that could be because I was first introduced to him via the 4th ed Monster Manual, so the artwork from that book has stuck with me for what he should look like.
Yeah, I have the prepainted Orcus which is ripped pretty much directly from the 4e artwork, and I like it better than this one. 🙂
Demogorgon is looking pretty cool!
