New Game Of Thrones Heroes & Villains From Dark Sword Miniatures
May 29, 2015 by brennon
Dark Sword Miniatures have put together not one, not two, but eleven new releases for their George R.R. Martin Collection. All of the characters below have been sculpted by Tom Meier and painted by Jessica Rich...
"You Win Or You Die..."
We kick things off with those on the wall or indeed near it. As well as a very awesome looking Qhorin Half Hand we have another member of the Nights Watch with DiTerlizzi and even the Wildling Osha who helps Bran escape.
I think they're all looking awesome so far although Qhorin continues to take the prize for the coolest looking sculpt so far. I think they've done some amazing work with his facial features and the painting is just superb too.
Next up are two of the more insidious characters in the story and ones that I'm sure most people wouldn't mind seeing killed off! Check out the very dark and dangerous Roose Bolton and Ramsey Bolton/Snow.
One of them is certainly very cold and calculating and it's come across in his sculpt while the other is mildly psychotic although that would be putting it lightly! It's interesting seeing the family resemblance in the sculpts which is a nice touch.
After that we head across the sea and find ourselves some Sand Snakes. These are quite fittingly out now considering the story that is playing out in the TV series right now. Obara, Tyene and Nymeria are all below in order...
Quite fittingly they are all very different looking which makes sense considering their lineage. I think Obara looks fantastic although the paint job on Nymeria with that see-through clothing is superb and a technique you don't see very often. It appears on a lot of the Song of Ice & Fire collection though!
Finally capping things off we have three rather different warriors. Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr and Daario Naharis. The last of these is portrayed a lot more like he is in the books than he is in the TV show and I think he's better for it!
Phew, well that's quite a collection of new models for you to gawp at and considering picking up from Dark Sword. They do a fantastic line of miniatures that covers a lot more than just the eleven you see above you too.
Which is your favourite?

Interesting take on Daario, nice stuff!
The faces are just stunning.
Those are rather good.
I’ve ordered a whole bunch of different minis from dark sword and they’re all bloody superb!
Daario will be revealed to be the show’s rewritten version of “Victarion Greyjoy” – I’m telling you all…..
“…the paint job on Nymeria with that see-through clothing is superb and a technique you don’t see very often…”
Yes, she looks superb.
By the way, both Jessica Rich and Marike Reimer (who paint most of Dark Sword’s studio minis these days) do that technique quite often for them.
Go ahead and have a look- as often as they both do it, it still looks amazing every time.
I wish I could paint see through. As it is I can barely paint at all ;P
Dark Sword Miniatures have some amazing miniatures, and these new ones are no exception to that rule. Fantastic stuff!
Excellent miniatures as everything Dark Sword manufactures. Only problem i have with those is that when i think of Game of Thrones, HBO’s actors come to my mind and those have no resemblance.
its nice to see they went with the books on this one
