Let’s Play: Dark Souls – The Board Game [Part Two]
August 21, 2017 by thisisazrael
Welcome to Part Two of our Let's Play of Dark Souls The Board Game as Az is joined by Alex and Jamie from Steamforged Games.
In Part One the guys explained the mechanics of the game such as the combined health and stamina bar and the flow of combat as you progress through the rooms.
They also suffer their first death at the hands of a Crossbow Hollow and face off against the Mini boss of this section - the Belfry Gargoyle! If you've never seen the game played before and would like to learn the rules click here to watch Part One.
In this second part of their adventure the guys get stuck straight into the action. Continuing their characters from last time, they battle it out for shiny loot, eventually making their way to the menacing Main Boss - The Dancer of the Boreal Valley!
Would you live dangerously and play the risky Assassin?

I giggled 😀
Been so looking forward to this. Still very sad I missed the kickstarter. Will definitely buy this game come pay day 🙂
Unbelievable, I saw three greens and thought he was dead, but then the luck god gave him a chance and after that, the luck god took it away from the dancer.
Then the Morning Star wafted away the dancer first strike. g g go gone.
Well played.
Looks like quite a bit of fun with lots of options as far as equipping your characters.
Great video, I learned some extra things, I just hope I don’t forget it when playing the game.
I had to laugh but it was more with the reaction of the others then with the re-embered.
I loved it when Jamie’s eyes started to twinkle thinking of killing of the Dancer.
Keep forgetting the option to attack then move… and the embers…and…
Buying back the re-roll and forgetting to recover stamina and…
Awesome video. Really enjoyed that. I’m through my second round of Dark Souls now and it seems we did everything right this time. Despite forgetting about our embers all the time.
I love this game. Great demo, and have Jamie and Alex back for another one.
That game had some tense moments.
A part 3? What are you guys going for? Another mini-boss, then the other main boss(es)?
@bucketknight We’ll definitely be tackling another mini and main boss for sure, and trying to up the stakes a bit 🙂 Az
@thisisazrael is the campaign a possibility?
@caledor2 I would very much like to but we have a TON of stuff in the pipeline so not a certainty I will be honest. Az
thank you guys! great video series it gave me a way better picture of the game than these so called reviews I read online. I have to say after watching the videos these reviews didn’t do the game justice at all. I’m really tempted now…
Great job, that looks a lot of fun and it really gives a good feel for the game. Just ordered it looking forward to getting a game or two in at the weekend
I’ll give you a Dad joke groan for rem-ember-ed, which in my household is the highest accolade worth much more than a mere giggle.(It’s my house, so my rules and I’m sticking by it!)
Not sure I should have watched the boss fight – going to make us all over-confident when we get to the Dancer…
Superb video guys! Many thanks for that. My only issue is related with the gameplay. Second part looked bit one sided compared to previous one. Especially Warrior seemed grossly overpowered and it looked like the team was never in real danger, which is seldom the case in DS.
Anyway, looking forward to expansions for the game and some more challenges (mega bosess pleaseee..)..:)
Great video, the boss did look like it was never really in doubt. You have tempted me into taking the plunge and I am looking forward to this arriving.
Awesome lets play gents, was lots of fun to watch. Played this game 5 times or so now and the last game our assassin did roll the four blanks….ouch!
Cracking playthrough gents. I’ll put a call out for Executioner Smough and Dragonslayer Ornstein for the next boss fight please 🙂
