Let’s Play: Dark Souls – The Board Game [Part Three]
September 4, 2017 by thisisazrael
We're back with Part Three of our Let's Play of Dark Souls The Board Game with Az teaming up with Alex and Jamie from Steamforged Games.
In Part One the guys gave an introduction to the mechanics of the game, and in Part Two they faced off against their first main boss - The Dancer of the Boreal Valley.
In this playthrough the guys have started with new characters: Az plays a Warrior, Jamie is a Knight, and Alex introduces us to the Herald. These three brave heroes battle against enemies old and new, until reaching the next imposing mini-boss: the Winged Knight!
His heavy attacks take so much effort to resist that even a successful block will cause the player to lose stamina.
Has your group found a winning class combination?

Loving these lets plays, pretty much taught me the game with only a quick read through of the rules. Playing with my sons we are now in the second phase of the campaign. Keep up the good work.
Great exciting close game.
It seems this is a bit of a standard in Dark Souls.
We have only played with 2 players so far and we noticed it works best with knight and warrior.
But the knight is a must for being able to soak up the damage.
Another great video, really enjoyed it and the number of times winning or losing seems to come down to a luck reroll, happened to us more than a few times.
Have to say each time i see this im on edge, thinking YOUR ALL GOING TO DIE.
Well played, good ending…
What an amazingly fun session 🙂
Awesome Let’s Play. I just love these and the game. I think it’s one of the best – if not the best – dungeon crawler combat systems in existence. It always a pleasure to watch Az get exited, but kudos to Jamie and Alex aswell. You make these videos – at least for me – very worthwhile watching by being fun but also explaining your thoughts and – for the lack of a better word – mathematics that influence your decision making and weighing of chances. SPOILER ALERT! Rules question: Around 1h 13-14m the Winged Knight does his Pillars of… Read more »
Ok, always remember to finish the video before posting 😀 The second time Pillars of Light came around you answered my question above. Yes, there is a difference between block and resist. Nice.
Awesome finish btw.
Great video, loving these let’s plays.
thanks guys!
i’m on catch up with these and they’re awesome. the lads are a proper giggle, the game is a lot of fun, but it’s all about seeing the narrative play out.
