Snapping Beast & Whirring Machines – New Dark Age Releases!
July 6, 2016 by brennon
Dark Age welcomes a whole new raft of releases for you to take a look at this month. Let's kick things off with what's coming for the CORE as we see both Zetamax and CORE ICON CL-457 hitting the tabletop...
Zetamax here isn't anything like the old medium for watching films - he seems decidedly more up to date and technologically advanced. I like that in that mess of metal there's the bright blue glowing orb which just seems incredibly ominous.
ICON-CL457 is no less dangerous looking.
I like the face peering out from the very top of this model but just imagine for a second running into this faction on the blasted sands of Dark Age. You'd be freaking out seeing these mechanical constructs dragging themselves out of the sands!
Beasts & Beast Masters
Following along from that we have something a bit more organic. Here we have Lynette who we'd seen previewed by Dark Age on social media over last month. Here she is with her lovely pets.
If you've developed a liking for the wildlife of Dark Age then you might also want to consider picking up the Moloki.
I really like these models. They might be just animals - no flashy blades or armour - but they just look, well, awesome! I like the detail they've worked into the scales and the reptilian skin creating very lifelike looking creatures. I think these would come together nicely when undercoat white and painted with a series of washes.
Medics & Guns
Finally we look towards some resculpts as we show off the Field Medic...
...and the Haniel.
The guys at Dark Age really are taking this re-sculpting business seriously and when they dive into the range they take a lot of time to produce fantastic new miniatures. The facial details on the Field Medic have come out nicely while the female Haniel looks brilliant.
What do you think of these new releases?

Some very nice models in this lot. I love that second walker. Looks very menacing… and believable.
Those are some stunning looking models.

Cool models…the beasts are very dynamic…like that a lot!
the bot’s look good.
The resculpts were necessary, and they all look good !
I think I just found a suitable model for my Apothecary in Hell Dorado.
Dark Age splits me right down the middle. I love the look of some of the big beasties and even went as far as buying the rule book. But way too many of the regular size models just leave me cold. The resculpts are definitely an improvement but not enough to draw me in. Those walkers are excellent though, I’m tempted to grab one and use it as some crazy AI that some unfortunate Space Marine Scouts or Guardsmen stumble across like Galatea from the recent Graham McNeill trilogy. Or maybe something the Mechanicus have set out to capture.
