New Path To Glory Two-Player Starter Set Coming For Dark Age
February 14, 2017 by brennon
The minds behind Dark Age have previewed their new Two-Player Starter Set for the game which will be launching on March 23rd for you to snap up and get stuck into this awesome Sci-Fi world.
The game sees you playing as the forces of St Issac and his robots pitted against the Ice Caste Dragyri. The models are looking fantastic, created in vibrant colours to stand out on the tabletop, and made of as few components as possible to make it easy to get started.
The characters are looking superb and it's fascinating seeing the amount of detail they've worked into the sculpts. Add to that the difference in scale between the two sides and you've got some very dynamic looking warriors for the tabletop. I'd be hard pressed to give up the Ice Caste if I were getting in on this!
Of course, all of the characters come with their relevant cards...
...and you also get the Quick Start Rules and a scenario to play out too.
Additionally, you get some other components to make things complete. That means terrain and all the relevant tokens and templates you need.
As mentioned above this does seem like a great entrance into the world of Dark Age and it sets you up nicely to delve deeper into two of the more favoured factions in their world. The Forsaken have some amazing miniatures as part of their collection to look forward to, as do the Dragyri.
Will you be picking this up?

Minis on the link look good. Do we have any idea of the retail cost?
I don’t have any direct info but the CORE starter box has 9 minis and costs $60 from CMON.
This box has some extra stuff like the rules and templates but 2 player starters are often keenly priced to get you hooked – I would not be surprised to see this at $60 rrp – especially when you consider the 2-player starter sets available for other games (I’m looking at you Guild Ball!)
It’s really difficult to fathom. Since besides new sculpts the really big thing about this is the different material, right? Which is rather a loose cannon not knowing how they calculate that in. Might make the stuff less pricey or more I reckon.
I found an official quote from their ‘State of the Union’ message that says $70
Always good to see a 2 player starter, it often only happens once a game is mature
Sweet. Good choice of factions too.
I’m happy to see this surfacing. Although the look of the new material raises suspicions about its quality…
I still have my fingers crossed for great new figures in their overhaul of the Brood announced for this year.
That looks tempting.
I’m by means an expert on the DA setting, but Path to Glory seems an odd title.
Seems to fit, both the sides being gloryhounds
Wicked cool from coolminiornot
I love the figures especially the ice cast troops.
interesting. anyone know if they are converting to plastic across the board? or just this starter set? seems like everyone is dipping their feet in hip or pvc these days
They have said that they are heading toward resin – I’m not sure if that is across the range or just when they do resculpts.
They also said that they’d like to do plastic but need the volume to make it worthwhile.
Always adored the minis, will be excellent to try this out with the wifey. 2 player starters are definitely the way forward to hook people in.
Still need to get those minis for my Forsaken, so this is a win for me.
CMON give a price of $59.99
Oops sorry sent starter set . That was the price of another one
Uh! This might be my entry into the game 🙂
It’s nice. If only Dark Age miniatures would be available in Europe 🙁
There is a distributor for mainland Europe, just not for the UK.
