Short Order Hero
Flipping burgers is no place for someone of your talents, so when the boss comes into the Diner one evening and announces a promotion, you swell with pride, knowing he is about to recognise your great abilities and get you off the short order line and fryers.
Then the bubble bursts as he announces that the promotion will go to the employee with the tastiest recipe served to him for his dinner. Your heart sinks a little, but no problem, you've got this. You know how to combine your ingredients into a gastronomic delight!
As you create and serve your meal, your heart swells as the boss compliments you on how tasty it looks. You hold your breath as he takes a big bite, and expel it in relief as he smiles. "Delicious" he declares as he takes another bite and starts to chew. Suddenly, however, he begins to gag and spits out his mouthful, to reveal a bundle of hair that was in the meal... What? Over his shoulder you can see one of your fellow employees smirking and the sight fills you with rage. It isn't over yet though...
As the boss takes a bite of your rival's food, a crunching is heard every time he chews. Spitting out his mouthful he gazes in disgust at the masticated cockroach lying in pieces amongst the food. As he runs to the toilet to be sick you ponder over the good fortune which led to you catching the roach and the foresight which saw you placing it strategically in your rival's meal.
Will it be enough?
