Dominate 8-Bit Tabletops With Crooked Dice’s New Miniatures
December 30, 2024 by brennon
Crooked Dice are ending the year strong with some great new releases for those seeking to dive into a bit of Pulp Sci-Fi wargaming with a touch of Horror too. First up, we start with a whole host of 8-bit characters that will be dominating the digital realm.
Master Node // Crooked Dice
First up, we start with Master Node who will be dominating the members of this 8-bit empire. This miniature might not look it but it's pretty big and I'm sure that you'll have a lot of fun trying to bring him down with your Electron Gladiators. Here you can see how he squares up to the Electron Gladiators who have been tasked with trying to beat him!
Electon Gladiators // Crooked Dice
Master Node and the Electron Gladiators are all 28mm scale miniatures with Master Node standing at 50mm tall. They were all sculpted by Ari Níelsson and look like the perfect starting point for those wanting to do something TRON-esque on the tabletop.
Capping things off for this set of new releases, we also have the Electron Citizen which was also sculpted by Ari Níelsson. A VIP that you have to save or perhaps hunt down?
Electron Citizen // Crooked Dice
We've seen quite a lot of these fun "Electron" miniatures now and there's more than enough for you to recreate the moments from the films on your tabletops. I like that you could approach painting them in the classic, retro way or maybe try and include more modern ideas with glowing elements everywhere!
Horror Releases
As well as the range above, you can also get your hands on a few Horror-themed miniatures. The first is the Occult Investigator that we mentioned before Christmas.
Occult Investigator // Crooked Dice
Hopefully, this fellow will end up being able to banish or at least contain the demon that is rampaging around that haunted house! This is one of the Harwood Hobbies miniatures given a new place amongst the Crooked Dice collection, sculpted by Iain Colwell.
Iain Colwell also sculpted this set of three Zombie Clowns which you can use for some classic undead shenanigans on the tabletop. The zombie clown is a staple of many horror antics and I think this set will be great for introducing into something a little Left 4 Dead in style.

Last but not least, we also got the release of something a bit different with a folklore-esque twist. Old Shuck will be prowling through the wilderness looking for prey.
Old Shuck // Crooked Dice
The supernatural Black Dog Of Winterly, the size of a Shetland pony, will be stealing livestock and infants! He has been summoned by many different witches and warlocks throughout the centuries and could be a great foe for your investigators to tackle in 7TV or maybe Vaesen if you want to get fancy!
All of these miniatures are available to buy right now!
