Fantasy Flight Let Slip Warhammer 40,000: Conquest
March 7, 2014 by brennon
It seems like Fantasy Flight Games might have more on the horizon for Warhammer 40,000 with the accidental release of information on Warhammer 40,000 Conquest. A new card game for the dark future? Yes please!
It looks like we'll be getting a game that is a mixture of the Warhammer: Invasion style and things like Star Wars and Netrunner. If it doesn't borrow from those games then I will be surprised.
The arrive of something else from Fantasy Flight Games does mean good things however as they nearly always hit the mark with their games, especially their licenses. I'd be looking out for this to follow on with the LCG format as well, so quids in!
Do you like the sound of this?

Is that an LCG logo I see in the corner of the box? The card layout looks very similar to the Star Wars LCG, so wonder if the deck construction will follows the same “objective set” format.
Oh, this is gonna be sweet!!!
Now just waitinhg for 40K Diskwars!
They’ve removed it, so you can’t tell much about it apart from that it’s an LCG.
I wouldn’t mind if it’s Invasion but with a 40K theme, although I do think they’ll have home systems instead of capitals, etc. But it would be interesting to see if they can go a step further than invasion.
With invasion, you were under the impression that as they were coming up with ne ideas with each release of the battle packs, I.e. ambush, raiders, Legends, etc. and it still worked. Now they can build upon that and perhaps take it that extra step further.
I see a tau, ork and smurg on the cards and the box has an eldar(i think)so Im hoping for a more game of thrones lcg interpretation of the game instead of a humans vs. xenos layout. It deff wont use the netrunner mechanics since those dont make much sense here but maybe more star wars or invasion I imagine. The game of throne stats would also work here since you have military power, pyschic power and stealth as the three possible attributes. Just my two cents and hopes on it.
yeah, after reviewing the rules for the star wars lcg, I can see how they would 40k it…
It looks like Pogs. I always said the government should decriminalize pogs.
Oh the possibilities. Can’t wait to check it out in detail, FFG really has a nick for long-term enjoyable cardgames
