More Confrontation Previews & A Painting Stream Live Today!
March 8, 2018 by brennon
The team at Sans Detour have shown off more of the Confrontation Classic range which will be coming to Kickstarter in April. Strap on those nostalgia boots as we take a wander down memory lane...
The first set we're going to look at the are the Living Dead Of Acheron here who certainly buck the trend when it comes to the kind of undead you're probably likely to have seen. Until I saw this game I think that my only exposure to Rackham miniatures had been through teary-eyed remembrances from other gamers and Cadwallon: City Of Thieves. Little did I know that was just the tip of the iceberg.
Who knew that they had such weird and wonderful Dwarves in their world too!
I must admit that the Dwarves Of Mid-Nor didn't immediately hit me as the kind of stunties I enjoy painting but the creativity of them suddenly overtook. I really like their strange insectoid edge and some of the creepier miniatures that have managed to work their way into their ranks.
Lastly for the big faction reveals this time around we have the Kelt Of The Sessairs Clan who are looking very cool indeed.
I really like the howling fellow on the left and their lead character there at the front with wings sprouting from his shoulders and that whispy beard. He looks like he would be a LOT of fun to paint up, as does the rest of this collection.
Painting Livestream
If you'd like to know more about Sans Detour's plans for this Classic Kickstarter then they are going to be running a Live Painting Stream today at around 7pm for us here in Britain (you can work it out from the image below right?).
So, are you going to be tuning in to see Nicolas Deze paint away at some of these miniatures and give them a modern look?
Drop your thoughts below...

stunning paint work on the models.
I know people are excited to see these come back but I have to wonder how well these are going to sell compared to last time. They are good looking, just like last time. Hopefully the same fate does not befall on to them once more.
I think it was business decisions which doomed the company rather than model quality. Hopefully, Sans-Detour are on top of that particular aspect of things this time.
It would seem that unfortunately, they are making some of the same mistakes. They are going to be in a mid-range plastic so not as good as the high precision metals of Infinity, and they are also trying to make the kits closer to a single piece. This coupled with the fact that the Kickstarter will be a single box with everything for one price and that some minis will be Kickstarter only…….well
It has been so long, but these figures still look great. It’s the unique are style that grabs me and my wallet.
Some great models in this lot.
Will these be the metal or plastic versions? The metal ones were hella expensive, but that could have been from a lack of a US based distributer.
These will be plastic so not as good as their metal cousins. According to the Sans Detour press releases all the launch figures will only be offered in one giant box so no picking your favorites, it’s all or nothing. There will even be minis that will only be offered during the Kickstarter and not ever make it to stores. Many on the Confrontation forums are already grumbling about this idea. I for one am hoping nothing really comes of this so third parties can go back to making high-quality metal recasts for me.
