Welcome to Love & Wargames, the channel dedicated to spreading the love (of wargames) around the world! In this Battle Report, a fully airborne Covenant flying saucers armada plunges into the Crown’s Southern Pacific Fleet main supply base for the Archipelago Omega campaign. Their objective is to rush in, put some teleport homers to bring some reinforcements, and wreck chaos.

To gain even more benefit, they waited for the long-awaited peace talks between the Crown and Task Force Mordred to being. This way, the Covenant plans to sabotage any hope of an alliance between the massive Crown fleets, and the more technologically-advanced ships of Task Force Mordred.

What the Covenant had not anticipated was that the main defense fortification of the Crown base, a gigantic Windsor-class War Fortress, was already operational. Neither did they account for the USS Grudgebringer’s Battlefleet, equipped with the latest experimental technology extracted from the ambushed Covenant convoy, was nearby the warzone and ready to rush in as soon as the flying saucers would be detected. Luckily for the raiders, a large storm broke out hours before their assault.

All experimental airships, whether Union-made or Covenant-built, had to skim the waves to escape the highly electrical clouds above the islands. Unnatural snow poured over Southern Pacific as the Archipelago Omega’s capricious climate shivered once more. Only the robust British Prydain War Rotor, used to fly above the ungrateful skies of Her Majesty’s home island, were strong enough to remain amongst the clouds.

Will the Covenant skimming saucers manage to punch through the Crown defenses, disrupting the TFM-Crown peace treaty and causing the diversion they need? Will the British-Irish defenders hold the line long enough, defending Her Majesty’s domain once more? And will the Union reinforcements from Task Force Mordred arrive fast enough to influence the course of the battle and push back the Covenant armada? Let’s find out!
