Slithering Snakes & Bird Archers Hit Bushido
August 25, 2015 by brennon
There are two new models coming for wave twenty-five of GCT's fantastic game, Bushido. Both the Ito Clan and the Tengu Descension are getting new models that will be of use on the field of battle wielding both katana and bow...
Snake Warrior
The first of the concept art pieces that we get to check out is for the Ito Can and it shows Taisei charging forwards with katana drawn ready to slay his foe...
"Deep in the cold, moist temples to Orochi where the greatest nightmares lurk, Taisei waits, conserving his energy only for the bidding of the one true Kami.
His physical prowess making him an impressive specimen of the Hebi, his great strength allowing him to wield the no-dachi with frightening agility, fearsome power or crushing an enemy beneath muscled coils, immobilised and helpless to the mercy of the merciless."
Birdy Bowman
The Tengu Descension gets some ranged support in the form of a Scout of the Blue Gale. This hooded warrior fits in nicely with the rest of the Tengu range...
"Of the Suzume warriors the fast and most athletic are chosen for the Blue Gale, an elite scouting force. Skilled in watching without being seen, striking and fading away, with blade or bow they are effective fighters adding even greater tactical options to the already mobile Tengu Warbands."
The artwork is always fantastic for this game and it's great to see that it's continuing so strong with yet another wave of releases to look forward to. Do you think the models are going to match up against the artwork well?
What faction do you play?

Anything that gives us more Tengu and ITO I am all for.
Ito for the win! Easily the coolest faction for one of the best mini games out there.
I’m currently watching and waiting. Still not sure about the game overall, but the samurai fan in me is finding hard to resist. Torn between grabbing the Ito or Ryu, or waiting for the Tengu.
Bushido is a very good game. Combat is very similar to rackhams confrontation. It also only uses a 2×2 board so takes up no space to play a game.
Ryu is as close to historical as you go in this fantasy setting, samurai, ashigaru with a small mix of magic and a dragon. Ito is more about misdirection, poison, movrment etc and all the naga miniatures they have are awesome looking.
I found the first minis they did were stunning and after a few waves the line declined in the sculpting department… but as of recently they seem to be getting their groove back. That’s a good thing for us all.
