Maniitok Lends His Axe To Bushido’s Tengu
May 16, 2016 by dracs
Bushido's Tengu Descension have staunch allies among the tribes of humans living in their mountains. One such ally has now joined the fight, ready to defend his home with axe in hand.
Maniitok is a simple and pious farmer, made tough by his life in the mountains. The daily struggle to survive has turned him into a tough and capable warrior, ready to fight alongside the Tengu with an axe as big as he is.
GCT Studio have produced another excellent sculpt that captures the character they are going for. Although he has come down, with a rather unfortunate case of "foot-on-rock syndrome", he is a mountaineer after all and the detail of his clothing and general design gives you an idea of what the Tengu allies are like overall.
Do you like the Tengu of Bushido? What do you think of this latest addition?

He looks more European than Japanese. It might be the painting of reddish blond hair.
Maybe he’s people are based on the Japanese Ainu minority?
They have (or at least had, historically) a more ‘european’ appearence
Oh, that make sense now. That’s a nice touch then if that is the intent.
With a different colour scheme he’d look great as a member of the nights watch
That looks really good.
he does look more generic than Japanese.
Japan actually had plenty of minor feudal cultures. It may be that he’s based upon the Ainu, the indigenous people of the northern island Hokkaido.
