The Rise of the Gaming Tzars
March 22, 2012 by beerogre
It has been a couple of months now since we launched out Tzar program, so I thought I would give you guys an update as to how things are progressing.
We've had a good response to the program and we would like to thank all those who have applied. We're working through the applications and we'll be contacted the applicants who have caught our eye in due course.
So far, we have installed three active Tzars...
Dais for Warmachine (he also does a little bit of Hordes... but we'll let him off with that)
Goban... who is making inroads into the Kings of War section (plus some Warpath... he just can't keep his hands of all things Mantic!)
... and...
Tinracer who has bee heading up our ideas for a Cthulhu section, dealing with all sorts of Lovecraftian gaming.
So far, we have been focusing our attention on Cthulhu (after all... the mad dreams tell us too!) and I'm pleased to announce that the Cthuhlu Hub will officially go live later today... when the stars are right... so to speak!
We also have a visit from Ronnie Renton (CEO of Mantic Games) today, who's interested in what's going on with the Kings of War & Warpath support. So, stay tuned for more developments on that soon.
Other than that, you can expect to see the Tzars circulating around the BoW forums, spreading the love of their game and generally getting involved in the discussions.
Remember, you can send the Tzars a friend message, which will allow you to see when they're on the chat system, so you can interact with them live. We'll also be scheduling some cool LIVE CHAT sessions to discuss sepcific games and you never know... you might just see some of those big industry names there too... but I've said to much already!
If you think you've got what it takes to be one of our Gaming Tzars, then fill out the application form (it's in the Contact Beasts of War drop down menu at the top of the page) and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
As you can imagine, we're up to our eyes with filming, programming, designing, hunting down sweet deals for all you Backstagers and perhaps even planning for a certain live show. Therefore, if we don't reply right away, please don't panic.
So until the next Tzar update... keep watching!
Big thanks to all who are throwing thier hat into the whole Tzar program.
We know loads of you have applied, and we will get to each game, to keep the faith!
As we get a better handle on how the Tzars can support the community and how WE (us and the community) can support the Tzars we’ll be able to speed up the process of letting more of them loose on their respective games.
Cheers everyone!
Congratulations to you guys! Looking forward to see what your efforts bring to BoW!
Solid choices all around. Looking forward to KoW and Cthulu guys
so does that mean KOW and Warpath will be handled by one person?
No they wont. 🙂
@theunnamableone Only one game per Tzar, but as these fine gentlement are active on the forums, it stands to reason they will be pitching in on the other games they like too.
First thing, thank you guys for stepping up to take on the role of a game Tzar. I can speek from experience that many of the common members have helped me in many ways. It just makes sense that some should be reps for the feild of there choice. A big thank you goes out to @Tinracer for encouraging me to do a plog on BoW. I don’t think I would have had the guts if he didn’t cheer me on. So it’s great to see him up front for all of us to applaud. Also the Cthulu hub is… Read more »
@manpug – you’re very welcome, you should be proud to show off the great army you’re building. Building up the cool fluff, models and paint styles, then doing the all important slog of rolling it out through the army. I’m looking forward to seeing the whole thing come together.
Thanks to the chaps at BoW giving me the opportunity to Tzar up for the Cthulhu Hub, we’ve got loads of cool ideas in the works and I’m looking forward to hearing all your ideas.
Congratulations to my comrades @goban and @tinracer! I’ve got my work cut out for me keeping up with you guys. I’ve been busy brainstorming while Warren, Andy, Lloyd, and the rest of the crew have been so busy. But I really want to hear what you guys want to see and what might inspire you take those first steps to try out Warmachine or Hordes if you haven’t tried them already. Anyone is welcome to send me a PM or message me on chat any time and about most any subject, whether they play or not. For what it’s worth… Read more »
Indeed congrats to the other Tzars. This is a great time to be involved in the hobby and share ideas, models, stories and isolation wards…
Nobody doing Malifaux ?
-sadness-
I can’t do it because I play too many just to focus on one…
Hope somebody steps up for Malifaux, Infinity, and flames of war.
All 3 need a Tzar for sure- just played my 2nd game of malifaux at I pretty impressed. FoW is to big to ignore and Infinity is to good
I’ve thrown my hat into the ring for the Dystopian Wars Tzardom (if such a thing is fated to exist, that is!). Id love to be able to write and get response back about faction-specific tactica, fluff, more background, the future of the 2nd wave nations, etc. Well, congrats again tot he tois Tzars, and to BoW for putting this idea forward in the first place!
Go for it! You never know, I see you on often. I think you’d be a fine Tzar for a game that needs some love.
I am disappointed that my application to be Happy Families Tzar has been rejected but there will be no sour grapes. Well done chaps hope all goes well.
Would like to see:
Relics
Freebooters Fate
Anima tactics represented if poss please… someone…anyone?
