Adepticon XV Heralds The Return Of Paul Sawyer
February 17, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
AdeptiCon XV: The Return of Paul Sawyer! Fourteen years ago, the legendary Paul Sawyer, also known by the endearing alias Fat Bloke, made the pilgrimage from Nottingham, England to Chicago, USA to attend one of the very first AdeptiCon game conventions.
At the time, Paul was the editor of White Dwarf magazine - where he served for eight long years and was one of Games Workshop’s best known personalities. Many Warhammer veterans remember fondly that era of White Dwarf, with the right amount of humor and hobby.
Seeking a change in 2007 Paul, along with his friend, John Stallard, founded Warlord Games and began a new chapter in miniatures gaming history.
Today, Warlord is home to some very popular games like Bolt Action, Black Powder, The Gates of Antares, and the forthcoming Doctor Who: Into the Time Vortex series.
So it is with great pride and no little fanfare that AdeptiCon can announce that it will be welcoming back Paul Sawyer to this year’s convention as a Special Guest!
Paul will be roaming the halls of AdeptiCon as well as spending time at the Warlord booth, happy to talk both old days and new releases.
What questions will you have lined up for Mr. Sawyer?

My favourite White Dwarf Editor. One day I will visit both AdeptiCon and Gencon.
Fat Bloke years were great, WD was brilliant back then
It’s heyday to be sure.
Must admit though I’m enjoying the new WD.
ooh the good old days.
Not going to be there but a gaming industry legend. Best era for white dwarf, varied content and real meaty articles.
Plus with his work at warlord, they are creating a real family of fantastic games. Wonder if we would ever see a warlord magazine? Probably not but site has loads of great articles.
The later is what I miss from thd current white dwarf, and why I am no longer picking it up automatically. Although thats still a vast improvement on previous formats
With the release of the Battle of the Bulge campaign book for Bolt Action and its inclusion of Late War Free French, will Warlord do up some Free French models? Or if not full models, at least heads? Adrian helmets? Kepis?
It’s good to see Fat Bloke again.
